Location: San Leandro, CAWork Model: HybridJob Type: Full-TimeJob SummaryWe are seeking an experienced Senior Android Developer to join our engineering team in San Leandro, CA. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience building scalable, high-performance Android applications using Kotlin, Jetpack, and modern Android architecture components.You will work closely with product managers, designers, backend engineers, and other developers to design, develop, test, and deliver high-quality mobile applications.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and develop robust, scalable Android applications using Kotlin and modern Android development practices.Build applications using Jetpack Architecture Components, including ViewModel, LiveData/StateFlow, Room, Navigation, WorkManager, and Lifecycle.Apply MVVM, Clean Architecture, and SOLID principles to create maintainable and testable code.Collaborate with product, UX/UI, QA, and backend teams to deliver new features and enhancements.Integrate RESTful APIs and third-party services into Android applications.Optimize application performance, stability, responsiveness, and memory usage.Write unit tests, UI tests, and integration tests to ensure application quality.Participate in code reviews and provide technical guidance to other developers.Troubleshoot complex technical issues and production defects.Stay current with the latest Android SDKs, Jetpack libraries, Kotlin features, and mobile development best practices.Contribute to architecture and technical design decisions for new and existing applications.Required Qualifications7+ years of professional Android development experience.Strong proficiency in Kotlin and Android SDK.Extensive experience with Jetpack Architecture Components.Strong understanding of MVVM, Clean Architecture, dependency injection, and design patterns.Experience with Jetpack Compose and/or traditional Android Views.Hands-on experience with Coroutines, Flow, Room, Navigation, ViewModel, LiveData, and WorkManager.Experience consuming and integrating REST APIs, JSON, and web services.Strong understanding of Android application lifecycle, threading, memory management, and performance optimization.Experience with Git and modern CI/CD practices.Strong debugging, problem-solving, and communication skills.Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment in San Leandro, CA.Preferred QualificationsExperience with Jetpack Compose and Material Design.Experience with Hilt/Dagger for dependency injection.Experience with Firebase and mobile analytics/crash reporting.Experience with automated testing frameworks such as JUnit, Espresso, and Compose UI testing.Experience with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.Experience mentoring junior and mid-level Android developers.Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI, or Bitrise.EducationBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field preferred, or equivalent professional experience.What We OfferCompetitive compensation and benefits.Hybrid work environment in San Leandro, CA.Opportunity to work on modern Android technologies and large-scale applications.Collaborative and technically driven engineering culture.Opportunities for professional growth and leadership.Skills: components,android,application,developers,architecture
