In this role, you will design, build, and maintain high-quality Androidapplications that serve millions of users. You will collaborate closely with productmanagers, designers, and backend engineers to deliver exceptional mobileexperiences.This is an individual contributor role with meaningful ownership and the opportunity todrive technical decisions.Key Responsibilities• Design, develop, and ship robust, scalable, and maintainable Android featuresend-to-end.• Build and evolve UI components using both Jetpack Compose and the traditionalView system, choosing the right framework based on context and platformrequirements.• Architect and implement local data persistence solutions using Room andSQLite, ensuring performance and data integrity.• Write clean, well-tested, and well-documented code with a strong emphasis oncode reviews and engineering best practices.• Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, memory issues, and crashes tomaintain a best-in-class app experience.• Collaborate with backend teams to design and consume RESTful APIs.• Participate actively in sprint planning, technical discussions, and architecturaldecisions.• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to a culture of technical excellence.• Stay current with Android platform updates, new APIs, and industry trends, andadvocate for their adoption where relevant.Required Qualifications• 3+ years of professional Android development experience.• Proficiency in Kotlin; familiarity with Java is a plus.• Strong hands-on experience with both Jetpack Compose and the traditional Viewsystem (XML layouts) — ability to work fluidly across both frameworks andintegrate them within the same project.• Hands-on experience with AI-assisted coding tools (e.g., Claude, Cursor) and a strong ability to integrate them into development workflows to improve productivity and code quality.• Solid experience with local data persistence using Room and SQLite, includingschema design, migrations, and query optimization.• Deep understanding of Android app architecture patterns such as MVVM, MVP,MVI, or Clean Architecture.• Strong grasp of multithreading and concurrency — Kotlin Coroutines, Flow,RxJava, and Handlers/Loopers.• Experience with Android Studio, Profiler, and debugging tools for performancetuning and memory analysis.• Familiarity with dependency management tools such as Gradle and dependencyinjection frameworks like Dagger/Hilt.• Solid understanding of networking — Retrofit, OkHttp, REST APIs, and JSONserialization/deserialization (Gson, Moshi, Kotlin Serialization).• Experience writing unit and UI tests using JUnit, Espresso, and Mockito/MockK.• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Fastlane, Bitrise, GitHub Actions, Jenkins)and Google Play Store distribution processes.• Strong understanding of Material Design guidelines and accessibility bestpractices.• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, orequivalent practical experience.Preferred Qualifications• Experience in Ad Tech — familiarity with mobile advertising SDKs, ad mediation,impression tracking, click attribution, or programmatic advertising concepts (e.g.,MRAID, VAST, OpenRTB).• Hands-on experience with ExoPlayer and Media3 — media playback, videostreaming, audio session management, or custom video processing pipelines.• Well-versed in leveraging GenAI tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Claude, Cursor) toenhance developer productivity — including AI-assisted code generation,debugging, documentation, and test writing.• Experience with modular app architecture and large-scale Android codebases.• Contributions to open-source projects or a strong personal portfolio of Androidapps.
