The company has built a significant proprietary dataset and is investing heavily in using AI to deliver increasingly personalised health experiences.The business is well funded, growing quickly and already operating at meaningful consumer scale.The RoleThey’re looking for a Senior Android Engineer to join a small mobile team and take significant ownership of their Android application.This is a hands-on individual contributor role for someone who enjoys building polished consumer products and wants more ownership than they would typically get within a larger engineering organisation.You’ll work closely with iOS, backend, firmware, product and design engineers on an application that sits at the centre of the customer experience.What You’ll Work OnBuild and ship high-quality native Android features using KotlinOwn features from initial design through architecture, implementation and releaseDevelop polished, responsive consumer-facing UIImprove application architecture, performance, reliability and maintainabilityWork closely with connected hardware, backend services and real-time device dataCollaborate directly with product and design on the user experienceHelp shape engineering standards and technical decisions across a small mobile teamUse modern AI development tools to increase engineering velocityWhat They’re Looking ForStrong professional experience building native Android applicationsDeep knowledge of Kotlin and the modern Android ecosystemExperience with modern UI frameworks such as Jetpack ComposeStrong understanding of Android architecture and application lifecycleExperience shipping and maintaining consumer applications at scaleAbility to take genuine end-to-end ownership rather than working on narrowly defined ticketsStrong product instincts and attention to UI detailClear technical communication and the ability to explain engineering decisions and trade-offsComfortable operating in a fast-moving, high-ownership environmentExperience with connected devices, IoT, Bluetooth/BLE, health technology or consumer hardware is useful, but not essential. Strong Android and consumer product engineering experience is the priority.EnvironmentThe mobile team is intentionally small, so individual engineers have considerable influence over both the product and technical direction.The engineering culture values ownership, speed and high standards.
