Senior Anti-Money Laundering Officer

Job Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Compliance Officer to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide day-to-day AML compliance advisory to various business unit, handle compliance-related projects, and contribute to business planning processing. This role requires over 5 years of experience in a sizeable SFC-regulated financial institution, with solid expertise in providing compliance advisory services.

Key Responsibilities

Provide AML/CFT and sanctions advisory to business units on customer due diligence (CDD), enhanced due diligence (EDD), high-risk clients, PEPs, complex ownership structures, and related mattersReview and assess money laundering and terrorist financing risks associated with new products, services, and client typesAssist in the development, review, and enhancement of the firm’s AML/CFT policies, procedures, and operational guidelinesSupport institutional risk assessments and related reportingDeliver internal AML training to promote a strong compliance cultureAssist in handling regulatory queries and preparing materials for SFC inspections or reviewsMonitor regulatory developments (including AMLO, SFC guidelines, and FATF standards) and assess their impact on the firmUndertake other ad-hoc projects as assigned by the Head of Compliance

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or above in Law, Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related disciplineMinimum 5 years of relevant AML / Compliance experience in financial institutionsPreferably experience in large financial institutions (major banks, investment banks, or large securities firms) in an AML Advisory roleSolid knowledge of the Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorist Financing Ordinance (AMLO), SFC guidelines, and international AML standardsProfessional qualifications such as CAMS / AAMLP / CAMLP preferredStrong analytical skills, sound judgment, and the ability to work independentlyExcellent command of both written and spoken English and Chinese (Cantonese and Mandarin preferred)Detail-oriented, responsible, with good commercial awareness and interpersonal skills
