Senior Architect

AECO is seeking an experienced Senior Architect to lead architectural technical activities across our contracting projects. The ideal candidate will combine strong technical expertise with practical construction knowledge, supporting project delivery from drawing review and technical submissions through site execution and handover.Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare, review, and coordinate architectural shop drawings, construction details, and as-built drawings.Manage technical submittals, including material approval requests, samples, mock-ups, compliance statements, and RFIs.Review design drawings, specifications, and BOQs to identify discrepancies, missing information, and coordination issues.Coordinate architectural works with structural and MEP disciplines, subcontractors, suppliers, and site teams.Prepare quantity take-offs, cost estimates, and technical comparisons as required for tenders, procurement, and variations.Develop value engineering proposals that maintain design intent, quality, and project requirements.Liaise with consultants and clients to resolve technical comments and secure timely approvals.Maintain drawing and submittal registers, aligning submission priorities with procurement and construction schedules.Support site teams in resolving technical issues and ensuring execution complies with approved drawings and specifications.Guide architects and draftsmen, reviewing deliverables for accuracy, completeness, and coordination.Qualifications & RequirementsBachelor’s degree in Architecture.Minimum 10 years of relevant experience, with a strong background in contracting and construction.Proven experience in architectural technical submittals, shop drawings, detailing, and multidisciplinary coordination.Strong knowledge of architectural finishes, materials, construction methods, and quality requirements.Experience in quantity take-offs, BOQ review, and cost estimation.Proficiency in Autodesk Revit and AutoCAD is essential.Working knowledge of BIM coordination; familiarity with Navisworks is an advantage.Knowledge of the Saudi Building Code and applicable local standards.Strong communication, team coordination, and time management skills.Saudi Arabia project experience and Saudi Council of Engineers registration are preferred.
