The team acts on some of the most significant cross-border disputes globally, advising major corporates, project sponsors, contractors, investors and other stakeholders.The OpportunityThe successful candidate will play a key role on complex international disputes, with a particular focus on construction and infrastructure arbitration.Responsibilities will include:Assisting and, where appropriate, taking the lead on complex international arbitrationsManaging significant aspects of matters, including strategy, case management and day-to-day client coordinationLeading and coordinating factual and expert evidence, particularly in relation to delay, quantum and technical issuesSupporting partners and senior lawyers in advocacy at hearings, while continuing to develop personal advocacy experienceDrafting high-quality submissions, pleadings, correspondence and other key arbitration documentsWorking closely with clients to anticipate their needs, provide strategic advice and ensure clear, timely communicationDelegating work effectively, supervising junior lawyers and providing constructive feedback and mentoringManaging matter budgets, costs and billing processes, with a focus on efficient delivery and profitabilityWorking collaboratively with colleagues across an extensive international networkContributing to business development, industry initiatives, client relationships, training and the development of internal know-howCandidate ProfileWe are seeking a lawyer with:6+ years' PQE, although exceptional candidates with 5+ years' PQE will also be consideredSignificant experience in international arbitrationStrong expertise in construction and infrastructure disputesExperience managing factual and expert evidence relating to delay, quantum and technical issuesExcellent drafting, legal analysis and case management skillsStrong commercial judgement and an ability to manage complex, high-value mattersExperience of English High Court proceedings, particularly in the Technology and Construction Court (TCC), would be advantageousExperience of expert determinations and/or adjudications would also be beneficialStrong financial awareness, including an understanding of matter budgets, costs and the key drivers of efficient legal service deliveryExcellent client relationship and communication skillsProven leadership capability, with the ability to supervise, mentor and support junior team membersA collaborative approach and the ability to work effectively across a global teamWhat the Role OffersA senior role within a market-leading global international arbitration practiceExposure to complex, high-value and cross-border construction and infrastructure disputesThe opportunity to take increasing responsibility for the management and strategic direction of mattersClose involvement in advocacy and major arbitral hearingsThe chance to work alongside leading practitioners across a global networkSignificant opportunities to develop client relationships and contribute to business developmentA collaborative and inclusive environment with strong support for professional developmentInterested?This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious disputes lawyer with strong international arbitration experience and a particular focus on construction and infrastructure disputes to take the next step in their career within a leading global practice.For a confidential discussion about the role, please get in touch with Rhys
