Rangam is seeking candidates for a Direct Hire role as a Senior Associate Scientist – Biotherapeutics and Vaccines Analytical Testing with our client Pfizer, one of the world’s largest pharmaceutical companies.Seeking candidates in Pearl River, NY*This position is being offered as part of a neurodiversity hiring program which is designed to provide a more inclusive and supportive hiring process and work environment for job seekers with cognitive disabilities, which includes, but is not limited to autism, ADD/ADHD, PTSD, OCD, Anxiety Disorder, Major Depressive Disorder, Dyslexia, Bipolar, and Tourette's Syndrome*What You Will AchieveIn this role, you will:Conduct qualitative and quantitative analyses of various biotherapeutic products and vaccines, to determine their quality during manufacture and during determination of their shelf life.Perform analytical method lifecycle activities such as verification, qualification, validation, and transfer activities for complex biotherapeutics (mAb, mAb-like), antibody drug conjugates, therapeutic proteins, and vaccines.Maintain written records of all experimental work in compliance with GLP/GMP and departmental SOPs.Assist in the maintenance and renewal of laboratory instruments and systems and improve safe and effective working practices.Attend team meetings to present data and apply technical skills and knowledge to solve complex investigation problems.Work under moderate supervision with regular review and identify activities to support work group/project team goalsContribute to the achievement of immediate work group goals and collaborate with other team members across the larger analytical organization.Prioritize work to meet project deadlines and ensure participation and contribution as a team member.Continuously improve safe and effective working practices in the laboratory environment.Perform and troubleshoot as necessary analytical assays, while applying these methods across a board range of early and late-stage products in a cGMP environment.QualificationsMust HaveBA/BS with 3 to 5 years of experience performing biotherapeutics testing in an R&D or GMP (preferable) environment.Master's Degree with 0 to 4 years of experience performing biotherapeutics testing in an R&D or GMP (preferable) environment.Strong documentation skills and attention to detailSome experience with method validation and method transferAbility to extract relevant information from scientific literatureProficiency in recording observations, facts, data, and conclusions during experimental work or cGMP investigationsSolid understanding of fundamental biochemistry, including functional group recognition and compound characterizationExperience using spectroscopic (e.g., UV-VIS, fluorescence spectroscopy) chromatographic techniques (e.g., HPLC/UPLC) or experience in bioassay techniques (e.g., ELISA or cell-based bioassays)Experience in GMP laboratory operations and logisticsEffective interaction with peers and leaders as part of a multi-disciplinary teamStrong evidence of growth mindset and ability to work as part of a diverse teamStrong verbal and written communication skillsNice to HaveUnderstanding of software systems used in biotherapeutics testing environments (EMPOWER, Labware LIMS or ELN or similar, SoftMax)Good Laboratory Practices (part of GxP) and Good Manufacturing Practices (also cGMP) knowledgeProblem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions based on limited options or limited informaitonInitiative and proactive approach to tasks and projectsExperience using common AI tools, including generative technologies such as ChatGPT or Microsoft Copilot, to support problem solving and enhance productivity.The annual base salary for this position ranges from $68,600.00 to $114,300.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer’s Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 7.5% of the base salary.
