Senior Automation Engineer

Job PurposeThe Senior Automation Testing Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, implementing, and maintaining automated testing frameworks and test scripts to ensure the quality, reliability, and performance of software applications. The role contributes to improving testing efficiency, accelerating release cycles, enhancing product quality, and supporting continuous delivery initiatives through automation best practices and quality engineering standards.Key AccountabilitiesDesign, develop, and maintain scalable automated testing frameworks for web, mobile, API, and enterprise applications.Analyze business and technical requirements and translate them into effective automation test scenarios and test scripts.Participate in software implementation, enhancement, and upgrade projects to ensure adequate test automation coverage.Develop and execute automated test suites as part of Agile, DevOps, and Waterfall delivery methodologies.Establish and maintain reusable automation libraries, frameworks, and components across projects.Execute automated regression, functional, integration, smoke, and end-to-end testing activities.Integrate automation testing activities into CI/CD pipelines to support continuous testing and delivery.Monitor automated test execution results, investigate failures, and perform root cause analysis.Manage and track defects using approved test management and defect management tools.Maintain Requirements Traceability Matrix (RTM) and ensure complete test coverage of functional requirements.Generate and communicate test execution reports, automation coverage metrics, quality indicators, and release readiness assessments.Collaborate with business analysts, developers, product owners, and quality assurance teams to improve application quality.Maintain automation assets within source code repositories and follow version control best practices.Contribute to testing standards, automation strategies, and continuous improvement initiatives.Mentor junior automation engineers and support team capability development through coaching and knowledge sharing.Minimum QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field.ISTQB Certified Tester – Test Automation Engineer (CT-TAE).Additional certifications in software testing, quality assurance, DevOps, or Agile methodologies.Minimum Experience+5 years of experience in Software Testing and Test Automation.Proven experience designing and implementing automation frameworks for enterprise applications.Hands-on experience across web, mobile, API, and integration testing automation.Experience working in Agile, Scrum, DevOps, and continuous delivery environments.Job-Specific SkillsTest Automation Framework Design and Development.Selenium WebDriver, Appium, UFT One, Cypress, Playwright, or equivalent automation tools.API Automation Testing using Postman, Rest Assured, SoapUI, or similar tools.Test Management and Defect Management tools such as JIRA, Azure DevOps (TFS), Micro Focus ALM, or equivalent.Programming and scripting languages such as Java, C#, JavaScript, Python, or similar.CI/CD tools including Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or equivalent.Source Code Management tools such as Git, Bitbucket, or Azure Repos.Functional, Regression, Integration, Smoke, and End-to-End Testing methodologies.Automation Framework Architecture and Reusable Component Development.Test Data Management and Test Environment Coordination.Quality Assurance Processes, SDLC, STLC, and Test Strategy Development.Banking and Financial Services domain knowledge, including Core Banking, Digital Banking, Card Management, Treasury, Payments, and Online Banking solutions, is preferred.
