Senior Automotive Bumper Design Engineer

About the RoleWe are seeking an experienced Senior Automotive Bumper Design Engineer to support OEM vehicle development programs. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in bumper system design, strong expertise in CATIA V5/V6, and a thorough understanding of OEM development processes, styling feasibility, cost optimization, and supplier coordination.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop design concepts based on OEM project direction and requirements.Perform CAD design activities using CATIA V5 and CATIA V6.Create and maintain package layouts and engineering drawings.Conduct 3D modeling and design validation activities.Drive open item evaluation, tracking, and closure.Perform styling feasibility studies in collaboration with studio teams.Create drawings and release documentation according to OEM standards.Support document preparation and engineering change activities.Analyze supplier quotations and support cost estimation activities.Participate in evaluations and create responses for:Gap & Flush AnalysisIQS ReviewsWiring & Piping IntegrationOther vehicle integration assessmentsCoordinate with onsite, nearshore, and offshore engineering teams to ensure smooth project execution.Required Skills & Experience15 to 20 years of experience in Automotive Bumper Design.Strong expertise in CATIA V5 and CATIA V6.Deep understanding of automotive product development and OEM design processes.Experience managing design activities across global engineering teams.Ability to act as the primary technical contact between OEM and offshore teams.Strong knowledge of:Project schedules and milestone reviewsOEM development systems and processesDesign for manufacturabilityCost drivers and cost optimization techniquesExperience collaborating with styling teams, suppliers, and manufacturing plants.Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
