These solutions unlock new capabilities for inspection, monitoring, and security operations where direct human intervention is limited or not feasible, offering team members opportunities to work on cutting-edge real-world systems.Role DescriptionThis full-time, Senior Autonomy / Robotics Engineer role is based in Athens. The role involves designing, developing, and integrating autonomy algorithms for robotic platforms, with a focus on perception, navigation, obstacle avoidance, and mission execution. The person in this role will implement and optimize software modules, validate performance through simulation and field testing, and refine systems based on data-driven insights. Daily activities include collaborating with cross-functional teams, reviewing system requirements, conducting experiments, and documenting designs and test results. The role actively contributes to technical roadmaps, supports integration, and helps mentor other team members in autonomous systems development.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and implement software components for autonomous and AI-driven systems.Develop high-quality software primarily in C++ (C++17 or later).Own modules related to perception, localization, planning, sensor integration, and system orchestration.Contribute to software architecture and technical design decisions.Lead integration, testing, debugging, and validation of autonomous frameworks.Support simulation and real-world system validation.Drive software quality, code reviews, and engineering best practices.Contribute to CI/CD, deployment, performance optimization, and system reliability.Mentor less-experienced engineers and support technical decision-making.Collaborate across robotics, AI, and systems engineering teams.Requirements / Must-HavesAt least 4+ years of professional experience in Software Engineering, Robotics or Autonomous Systems.At least 4+ years of professional experience in C++ (17 or later) and familiarity with Python.Strong understanding of autonomous systems concepts such as perception, localization, sensor fusion, planning, or control.Strong software engineering fundamentals, including algorithms, data structures, object-oriented design, and Linux development.Experience with Git, debugging, testing, and maintainable software architectures.Strong familiarity with APIs, multithreading, containerization, and modern software development practices.Ability to independently own complex technical problems.Strong analytical, technical, and communication skills.Fluent English.Nice to haveROS/ROS2 or other robotics middleware.Simulation and validation environments.Docker, CI/CD, or edge computing.Advantages of working with us:Competitive compensation package based on experience and technical seniority, above the EU average.Αccess to company equity as part of a long-term career path.Free parking in an allocated and secure space.Additional company-provided leave days.Fuel allowance for on-site attendance.Personal expense allowance.Opportunity to play a pivotal role in the company's growth trajectory.Work with a cross-border, dynamic, purpose-driven team.Be part of an exciting environment at the Demokritos Campus, a hub of cutting-edge tech.Opportunities for learning and development.Our priority is our people.
