Senior AV Technician

Job OverviewResponsible for the installation, operation, maintenance and troubleshooting of audio-visual equipment and systems to support meetings, conferences, presentations, live events and other technical requirements. Ensures all AV equipment operates reliably and delivers a high-quality user experience.Key ResponsibilitiesSet up, operate and dismantle audio-visual equipment, including projectors, displays, microphones, speakers, cameras and lighting systems.Provide technical support for meetings, conferences, presentations, hybrid events and video conferencing.Troubleshoot and resolve AV hardware, software, connectivity and signal-related issues.Configure and operate video conferencing platforms and collaboration technologies.Carry out routine equipment checks, preventative maintenance and basic repairs.Support the installation, configuration and testing of AV systems.Monitor equipment performance and ensure systems are ready for use.Provide technical assistance to users, offering clear guidance and resolving issues promptly.Maintain accurate records of equipment, faults, maintenance and technical support activities.Work collaboratively with colleagues and other technical teams to deliver reliable AV services.Follow relevant health and safety procedures and equipment-handling guidelines.Skills and CompetenciesPractical knowledge of audio-visual equipment and integrated AV systems.Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.Understanding of audio, video, signal flow and connectivity.Experience with video conferencing and collaboration technologies.Good communication and customer service skills.Ability to prioritise tasks and work effectively under pressure.Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to technical support.Professional AttributesReliable, organised and technically minded.Customer-focused with a commitment to service quality.Able to work independently and as part of a team.Flexible and adaptable to changing technical requirements.Committed to maintaining professional standards and continuous learning.
