As a Senior Backend Developer, you will be responsible for designing and developing robust, scalable, and high-performance backend systems. You will collaborate with a cross-functional team to deliver innovative solutions that meet our clients' needs.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESDevelop and maintain backend systems using JavaScript (TypeScript) and Python.Design and implement APIs and services to support front-end functionalities.Write clean, efficient, and modular code adhering to best practices and coding standards.Optimize performance and ensure scalability.Collaborate in the database design and management of those systems (PostgreSQL).Conduct thorough testing and debugging to identify and resolve issues.Stay updated with emerging trends and technologies in the field of development.REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCEBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).Strong proficiency in Typescript (JavaScript) / Python programming language.Experience with Node.js and its ecosystem.Familiarity with GraphQL and its implementation (Apollo, Relay, etc.).Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.Excellent communication and collaboration skills and proficient in englishOTHER PREFERRED SKILLSDev-Ops experienceExperience in AzureExperience with GrafanaManaging and optimizing database systems (PostgreSQL or MongoDB).Worked with Sentry or other Monitoring / Error-Tracking softwareFamiliarity with Next.jsOTHER DETAILSFull-time employee (40 hours/week).Reports to Head of Application Development.Located preferably in Amsterdam (Netherlands), but flexible within the EU.Compensation depending on qualifications and experience.DISCLAIMERELTEMATE is an equal employment opportunity employer and does not discriminate against any employee or applicant for employment on the basis of race, color, religion, gender, national origin, age, sex, disability, veteran status, marital status, sexual orientation, gender identity or any other characteristic protected by law. If you are interested, please get in touch with us at HR@eltemate.com.
