Senior Backend Developer (Node.js / NestJS)

Job OverviewWe are looking for an experienced Backend Developer to build and maintain a scalable, high-performance venue booking and event management platform. You will work on complex business logic, real-time systems, and multiple third-party integrations in an enterprise-grade architecture.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and develop scalable RESTful APIs using NestJS (Node.js + TypeScript)Implement complex modules such as booking management, payments, and user rolesBuild and maintain modular, domain-driven architectureIntegrate third-party services (payments, notifications, analytics, etc.)Implement authentication & authorization (JWT, RBAC)Optimize database queries and ensure high performanceHandle real-time features like push notificationsDevelop file processing systems (PDF, Excel, media handling)Ensure code quality with testing, linting, and best practicesCollaborate with frontend, mobile, and DevOps teamsRequired SkillsStrong experience in Node.js, NestJS, and TypeScriptExpertise in PostgreSQL (schema design, optimization)Experience with Redis (caching, sessions)Solid understanding of REST API design principlesExperience with authentication & security (JWT, OAuth, RBAC)Knowledge of Domain-Driven Design (DDD) and clean architectureHands-on with third-party integrations (Firebase, Twilio, Email services)Experience with AWS (S3, EC2) or similar cloud platformsFamiliarity with CI/CD pipelines and production deploymentsPreferred SkillsExperience with event-driven architecture / message queuesKnowledge of GraphQLExperience in payment gateway integrations (Stripe, PayPal)Familiarity with monitoring tools (Sentry, logging systems)Experience in document generation (PDF, Excel) and image processingUnderstanding of performance optimization and scalabilityTech StackBackend: NestJS, Node.js, TypeScriptDatabase: PostgreSQL, RedisStorage: AWS S3 / MinIOIntegrations: Firebase, Twilio, NodemailerTools: Jest, ESLint, Prettier, HuskyMonitoring: Sentry, Mixpanel, SlackExperience Level4+ years in backend developmentExperience in complex, scalable applications is requiredAdditional ExperienceExperience working on booking systems / marketplacesFamiliarity with multi-tenant systems and role-based platforms
