They offer an intellectually stimulating, high-impact environment where top-tier engineers work on next-generation hardware-software integrations.Your new roleAs the Senior Backend Engineer (IoT & Messaging), you will own the core server-side architecture, device messaging contracts, and event-driven data pipelines that connect physical devices with intelligent cloud/edge systems. You will build resilient Node.js services, architect high-throughput message flows, and integrate internal AI workloads.Key responsibilities include:API & System Architecture: Building clean, layered REST APIs in Node.js (Express) with full OpenAPI documentation and optimized PostgreSQL data models.IoT & Device Messaging: Designing and maintaining robust MQTT device messaging contracts, including payload schemas, per-device security, command ACKs, and idempotent event handling.Event-Driven Messaging: Architecting high-reliability message flows using RabbitMQ (exchanges, DLQs, prefetch) and Redis for caching, pub/sub, and state management.Security & Auth: Implementing token rotation, role-based access control (RBAC), audit logging, and mTLS device authentication.Integration & Testing: Connecting backend flows with internal AI/ML inference services while building automated integration tests and CI device simulators.What you'll need to succeedTo qualify for this position, you must demonstrate proven, production-grade experience (5+ years in backend engineering with strong Node.js) across the following core areas:PostgreSQL: Hands-on schema design, indexing, complex query tuning, database migrations, and PgBouncer connection pooling.RabbitMQ: Deep knowledge of exchange routing, dead-letter queues (DLQs), TTL configurations, prefetch tuning, and at-least-once delivery guarantees.MQTT: Experience with Mosquitto (or similar brokers), handling QoS levels, retained messages, Last Will and Testament (LWT), TLS client certificates, and per-device ACLs.Redis & Event Architecture: Mastery of caching strategies, pub/sub, keyspace notifications, idempotency, event deduplication, and message replay handling.Core Tooling: Solid experience with Docker, Git, and automated CI/CD pipelines.Desirable Extras: Experience with Linux/Ubuntu administration, WireGuard, HashiCorp Vault, Keycloak/OIDC, Prometheus/Grafana, Python/FastAPI, gRPC, or AI serving frameworks (vLLM/Triton).What you'll get in returnInnovation Culture: The opportunity to build true greenfield technology at the intersection of AI, robotics, and industrial IoT.High Technical Autonomy: Direct ownership of critical device messaging and event-driven backends without legacy bloat.Growth: Work alongside world-class researchers and engineers solving real-world automation challenges.Package: Competitive salary package tailored to senior backend talent.What you need to do nowIf you are interested in this opportunity, click 'apply now' to submit an up-to-date copy of your CV.
