Senior BIM Coordinator - MEP

We are looking for an experienced Senior BIM Coordinator – MEP to join our construction team in Abu Dhabi. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and managing MEP BIM coordination activities, ensuring that mechanical, electrical, plumbing, firefighting, and other MEP systems are fully coordinated with architectural and structural disciplines.This role requires strong hands-on experience in Revit MEP, Navisworks, clash detection, model coordination, and construction-stage BIM delivery.Key Responsibilities:Lead and manage MEP BIM coordination activities throughout the project lifecycle.Develop, review, coordinate, and maintain detailed BIM models for HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, Fire Fighting, and other MEP systems.Perform clash detection, analysis, and resolution using Navisworks Manage and other BIM coordination tools.Coordinate MEP models with architectural and structural models to ensure fully coordinated and constructible solutions.Review BIM models for accuracy, completeness, constructability, and compliance with project requirements.Coordinate with MEP Engineers, Project Engineers, Design Teams, Consultants, Subcontractors, and Site Teams to resolve technical and coordination issues.Lead BIM coordination meetings and follow up on outstanding clashes and coordination actions.Prepare and maintain clash reports, coordination reports, model review reports, and BIM deliverables.Ensure MEP models are developed and updated in line with approved drawings, specifications, project requirements, and site changes.Support the preparation and implementation of BIM Execution Plans (BEP) and project BIM standards.Monitor BIM model quality and ensure compliance with required LOD and BIM standards.Coordinate MEP openings, sleeves, shafts, plant rooms, ceiling spaces, equipment clearances, and service routes.Work closely with site teams to identify constructability issues and provide BIM-based coordination solutions.Review and coordinate subcontractor BIM models and ensure compliance with project requirements.Support the preparation of shop drawings, coordinated drawings, as-built models, and BIM documentation.Maintain proper model version control and ensure that the latest approved information is incorporated into the BIM environment.Provide technical guidance and support to BIM Coordinators, BIM Modelers, and MEP teams when required.Ensure BIM coordination activities are completed in accordance with project schedules and deadlines.RequirementsBachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.Minimum 8 years of total professional experience.Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience specifically in MEP BIM Coordination.Strong experience within the construction/contracting industry.UAE construction experience is highly preferred.Proven experience coordinating large-scale building construction projects.Strong hands-on proficiency in Autodesk Revit MEP and Navisworks Manage.Strong knowledge of MEP systems, construction methods, drawings, and technical coordination.Proven experience in clash detection, model federation, clash resolution, and multidisciplinary coordination.Good understanding of BIM workflows, LOD requirements, BIM standards, and project deliverables.Experience coordinating with consultants, subcontractors, MEP engineers, and site execution teams.Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, fire fighting, and other building services.Excellent communication, coordination, leadership, and problem-solving skills.Ability to work under pressure and meet project deadlines.Preferred SkillsExperience with Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) / BIM 360.Knowledge of ISO 19650 and BIM project workflows.Experience with BIM Execution Plans (BEP), clash reports, model audits, and BIM coordination documentation.Experience working on high-rise, commercial, residential, hospitality, mixed-use, or large-scale building projects.Experience in construction-stage BIM coordination rather than design-only BIM.Autodesk/Revit BIM certification will be an advantage.
