Senior Build/Platform Engineer

Help design, build and continuously improve the clients online platform. Research, suggest and implement new technology solutions following best practices/standards. Take responsibility for the resiliency and availability of different products. Be a productive member of the team. Requirements Design, build, optimize, and maintain secure, lightweight, and reusable Docker images for Azure DevOps build agents. Review and optimize existing Docker images by removing unnecessary dependencies, tooling, caches, artifacts, and duplicate layers. Define and implement a standardized Docker image strategy for Azure DevOps build agents. Create purpose-built, task-specific images (e.g., .NET, Java/Maven/Gradle, Node.js, SAST, Kubernetes/Helm) to improve maintainability and efficiency. Improve Docker image build time, pull time, startup performance, security, and overall maintainability. Establish image standards, naming conventions, versioning, lifecycle management, patching, and governance processes. Support the migration to AKS-hosted Azure DevOps build agents and modern containerized CI/CD infrastructure. Develop and maintain Azure DevOps self-hosted agents running in Docker and Kubernetes/AKS environments. Implement and optimize containerized CI/CD workloads using Kubernetes, AKS, and Azure Container Registry (ACR). Integrate image security practices using tools such as Trivy, Grype, Syft, SBOM generation, or similar solutions. Apply minimal base image strategies using Alpine, Distroless, Debian Slim, Ubuntu Minimal, or equivalent. Implement supply chain security best practices for CI/CD environments. Collaborate with platform engineering teams to enable scalable, self-service developer platforms. Optimize build pipelines by improving image caching, toolchain packaging, and overall CI/CD performance. Drive standardization and governance of build-agent images across multiple teams and projects.
