Senior Business Analyst

We are partnering with an established Birmingham based software house that develops innovative technology solutions for clients across a range of sectors. Due to continued growth, we are looking to appoint an experienced Senior Business Analyst to play a key role in delivering complex software projects and driving business change initiatives.This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded Business Analyst with a strong background in software development environments to join a collaborative, fast paced and technology focused organisation.The RoleAs a Senior Business Analyst, you will act as the bridge between business stakeholders, customers, and technical teams, ensuring business requirements are accurately captured, analysed, and translated into high quality software solutions.Working closely with Product Managers, Developers, Architects, QA teams, and external clients, you will lead requirements gathering activities, facilitate workshops, and support the successful delivery of software products throughout the full project lifecycle.Key ResponsibilitiesLead business analysis activities across multiple concurrent software development projects.Engage with internal and external stakeholders to understand business challenges, objectives, and requirements.Facilitate workshops, interviews, and discovery sessions to elicit, analyse, and document functional and non functional requirements.Produce high quality documentation including business requirements documents, user stories, process maps, use cases, and functional specifications.Translate business requirements into detailed technical requirements for development teams.Work closely with Product Owners and Development teams within Agile delivery environments.Support backlog management, prioritisation, and sprint planning activities.Analyse existing business processes and identify opportunities for improvement, automation, and efficiency.Collaborate with QA teams to define acceptance criteria and support User Acceptance Testing.Manage stakeholder expectations and provide regular communication on project progress, risks, and dependencies.Support change management and business readiness activities during system implementations.Mentor and support junior Business Analysts within the team.Skills & Experience RequiredProven experience operating as a Senior Business Analyst within a software house, SaaS provider, or technology driven organisation.Strong experience working on bespoke software development projects.Extensive experience gathering and documenting functional and non functional requirements.Demonstrable experience working within Agile and Scrum environments.Strong understanding of the full Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).Experience producing user stories, process flows, wireframes, and acceptance criteria.Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non technical audiences.Experience facilitating workshops and leading discovery sessions.Strong analytical, problem solving, and process mapping skills.Experience using tools such as Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps, Visio, or similar.Knowledge of APIs, system integrations, and data flows would be highly advantageous.Previous experience within a software engineering or SaaS environment is essential.Desirable ExperienceExperience working within a client facing software consultancy or software house environment.Exposure to cloud based platforms and modern software architectures.Understanding of UX principles and customer journey mapping.Experience working alongside Product teams.Relevant certifications such as BCS Business Analysis, CBAP, or Agile certifications.What's on OfferHybrid working model based in Birmingham.Competitive salary and bonus scheme.Ongoing professional development and training opportunities.Collaborative and innovative working environment.Clear career progression opportunities.Private healthcare and enhanced pension scheme.Regular team events and social activities.If you are an experienced Business Analyst who thrives in a software development environment and enjoys shaping innovative technology solutions, we would love to hear from you.
