Senior Business Analyst

Role: Senior Business AnalystSalary: £80,000-£100,000 DoE (+ discretionary annual bonus of up to 7.5%)Location: Hybrid – London 2 days per week (Farringdon)The Opportunity:Our client, an innovative technology business operating within the healthcare and life sciences sector, is looking for an experienced Business Analyst to join its growing team.The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping solutions that meet business needs, working closely with senior stakeholders, Developers, Testers and wider cross-functional teams throughout the full delivery lifecycle.This isn't a traditional Business Analyst role. Alongside leading requirements gathering and solution design, you'll coordinate Agile ceremonies, lead a small team of Developers and help improve standards and ways of working across the wider delivery function. You'll also work closely with senior leadership to develop prototypes that help bring requirements to life, giving Developers and Testers a much clearer understanding of how proposed solutions should look and operate.This role would suit someone who enjoys getting into the detail of complex technical problems and wants the opportunity to have a genuine influence over both solutions and delivery practices.Key Responsibilities:Business Analysis & Solution DesignLead business analysis activities across projects and initiativesElicit, analyse and challenge business requirements to uncover underlying business needsProduce clear requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria and process flowsUse Gherkin-style acceptance criteria where appropriateDevelop solution designs and supporting analysis documentationAgile Delivery & Team LeadershipLead a small sub-team of Developers, providing direction and supporting deliveryCoordinate Agile ceremonies including backlog refinement, sprint planning, stand-ups, reviews and retrospectivesSupport Developers and Testers with clear guidance around how solutions should operateIdentify risks, dependencies and assumptions early and proactively address themTechnical AnalysisWork with technical teams to assess solution options and technical dependenciesApply knowledge of APIs, system integrations and client-side web applicationsDevelop a strong understanding of data models and how data supports business processesProduce basic UML diagrams and other analysis artefactsUse tools such as Azure DevOps and Claude Code to support analysis, solution exploration and deliveryStakeholder Management & Continuous ImprovementFacilitate workshops and meetings with technical and non-technical stakeholdersBuild strong relationships across all levels of the organisationChallenge requirements constructively to ensure solutions align with business objectivesDrive continuous improvement across standards, processes and team efficiencyWhat We're Looking For:Essential ExperienceProven experience as a Business Analyst, operating at a senior or lead levelStrong understanding of Agile principles and experience coordinating Agile ceremoniesExperience leading or coordinating a small team or sub-teamExperience working in a hands on technical role (development / scripting etc.)Experience working with senior stakeholders to shape solutions and improve requirementsGood working knowledge of APIs and system integrationsUnderstanding of client-facing web applications and how front-end functionality supports business processesExperience creating basic UML diagrams and structured analysis modelsStrong understanding of data models and data mappingExcellent communication, analytical and problem-solving skillsA proactive approach to continuous improvement and delivery qualityIf you're an experienced Business Analyst looking for a role where you can combine business analysis, technical solution design and team leadership while working on technology that supports cutting-edge healthcare research, we'd love to hear from youImportant Notice:We are expecting a high volume of applications for this role and while we do our best to respond to as many applicants as we can, it isn't always possible to get back to everyone.
