We build enterprise automation software and deliver professional services to large Australian fintech organisations, including work supporting a major Australian banks. Our product work spans an MCP first automation platform used across finance, procurement, SDLC and HR operations, and an enterprise blockchain infrastructure product.The position:We are hiring a Senior Business Analyst to work between our business users, our enterprise clients and our engineering team. You will establish what the business needs, document it to a standard that can be built from, and stay with it through design, testing and release. This is a hands on analysis position rather than a coordination one.Duties:Work directly with business users, product owners and client stakeholders to elicit, challenge and document business requirements, and produce the requirements specification that system and software solutions are built fromIdentify, investigate and analyse existing business processes, procedures and work practices across finance, procurement, HR and delivery operationsIdentify and evaluate inefficiencies in current practice and current systems, and recommend improved business practices together with the system functionality and behaviour required to support themReview and evaluate existing systems and integrations, and specify the modifications needed to meet changing business needsDevelop functional specifications for use by system developers, including user stories, acceptance criteria and API specificationsApply data and process modelling techniques to produce unambiguous system specifications for the design and development of system softwareApply project management methodologies to develop project plans and to cost, resource and track delivery across concurrent workstreamsTake responsibility for deploying functional solutions, including creating and implementing system test plans that establish acceptable quality and integrity of the system before releaseCreate user and training documentation and conduct formal training sessions for internal teams and client usersAct as a central reference and information source, providing guidance and assistance to product, engineering and client stakeholders in system project decision makingConsult with users and programmers on improvements to the functionality of our platform, web applications and integrationsSkills and experience required:At least five years of experience as a business analyst or systems analyst delivering enterprise software or technical projectsA bachelor degree in information technology, engineering, science or a business discipline, or equivalent demonstrated experienceDemonstrated written output: business requirements documents, functional specifications, user stories and acceptance criteriaProcess and data modelling capability, including process maps and data flow documentationExperience specifying API based integrations with enterprise platforms such as ERP, CRM, ITSM or finance systemsExperience writing and executing system test plans and coordinating user acceptance testingExperience in Agile delivery using Jira and ConfluenceAbility to communicate with senior internal and client stakeholders and to hold a position when requirements are contestedFull working rights in AustraliaDesirable, not essential:Exposure to AI or automation products, agent based systems or LLM enabled workflowsExperience configuring tool and data integrations for automation platforms, including MCP based integrationsBanking, financial services or other regulated industry backgroundFamiliarity with control frameworks such as SOC 2.Business analysis or Agile certification such as ECBA, CBAP or Certified Scrum Product Owner
