Business Systems AnalystLocation: Toronto, ON (in-office)Duration: PermanentIndustry: Financial ServicesOverviewOur client, a leading financial services company, is seeking a Business Systems Analyst with Asset Management experience to support high-impact initiatives across trading, risk, and regulatory programs. This role will work closely with front office, risk, technology, and operations teams to gather requirements, drive analysis, and support end-to-end delivery of complex projects.Key ResponsibilitiesCollaborate with business stakeholders (Front Office, Risk, Operations) to gather, document, and validate business and functional requirementsTranslate business needs into detailed BRDs, FRDs, user stories, and process flowsSupport trade lifecycle analysis across asset classes (Equities, Fixed Income)Work closely with technology teams to ensure accurate implementation of requirementsParticipate in UAT planning, execution, and defect resolutionAnalyze data using SQL/Excel to support business decisions, reconciliation, and validationIdentify gaps, risks, and dependencies and proactively propose solutionsSupport regulatory and risk initiatives (e.g., reporting, compliance, audit readiness)Facilitate stakeholder meetings, workshops, and status updatesRequired Experience10+ years of experience as a Business Analyst/Business Systems Analyst in Asset Management and/or Capital MarketsExcellent stakeholder management and communication skillsExperience supporting the front office, risk, or regulatory projectsProven ability to work in Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid environmentsStrong documentation skills (BRD, FRD, user stories, workflows)SQL, Excel and Python skills with solid understanding of data modelingKnowledge of system architecture, data flows, integrations, and APIsExperience with financial industry platforms - Bloomberg, TradingView,Experience with tools such as JIRA, Confluence, or similarNice to HaveExperience with risk systems, regulatory reporting, or market data platformsKnowledge of financial instruments valuation and pricingPrior experience in large-scale transformation or modernization programsCertifications such as CBAP, CFA, or PMPKey Traits:Business/Stakeholder Partnership & Requirements ManagementProcess Mapping & Business TransformationData Analysis & Data MappingAI Integration & Innovation/EnablementSolution Delivery & Implementation – includes the UAT processConfident communicator
