About the RoleWe are seeking a Senior Business Systems Engineer to own Salesforce solutions from business requirements through design, implementation, and validation.This role combines the responsibilities of a Business Analyst, Salesforce Engineer, and Quality Engineer. The ideal candidate can work directly with stakeholders to identify and refine business requirements, translate those requirements into well-designed technical solutions, implement them using modern development practices and AI-assisted tools, and ensure they perform correctly across expected and edge-case scenarios.Success in this role requires strong business analysis and problem-solving skills, sound technical judgment, and a rigorous approach to quality.ResponsibilitiesDiscoverPartner directly with business stakeholders to understand processes, challenges, and objectives.Translate ambiguous or incomplete requests into clear requirements, acceptance criteria, and actionable work items.Identify assumptions, exceptions, dependencies, and downstream impacts.Challenge proposed solutions when appropriate and ensure requirements address the underlying business need rather than a narrowly defined request.Develop sufficient business domain knowledge to evaluate requirements within the context of broader processes and systems.DesignDesign scalable, maintainable Salesforce solutions that appropriately balance configuration and custom development.Make sound architectural decisions regarding data models, objects and fields, validation rules, Flow, Apex, Lightning Web Components, integrations, and automation.Determine the appropriate scope and execution context for business logic, including platform-level versus user-interface-specific behavior.Consider security, sharing, data integrity, governor limits, maintainability, user experience, and downstream system impacts.Favor simple, sustainable solutions over unnecessary technical complexity.BuildImplement solutions using Salesforce configuration, Apex, SOQL, Lightning Web Components, JavaScript/TypeScript, Flow, and related technologies.Leverage AI-assisted development tools to accelerate implementation while maintaining ownership of solution architecture and quality.Review and validate AI-generated implementations for correctness, maintainability, security, and alignment with established architecture.Debug and improve existing solutions across both declarative and programmatic components.ValidateDefine and execute comprehensive test scenarios based on business requirements and technical design.Identify edge cases, failure conditions, boundary conditions, unusual data states, permission differences, and integration scenarios.Perform hands-on functional testing in addition to developing appropriate automated tests.Ensure automated tests validate expected behavior rather than simply meeting code-coverage requirements.Confirm that completed solutions address the underlying business requirement and operate correctly within the broader Salesforce environment.QualificationsStrong experience designing and implementing solutions on the Salesforce platform.Strong analytical, requirements-gathering, and problem-solving skills.Demonstrated ability to work directly with business stakeholders and translate business needs into technical solutions.Strong understanding of Salesforce data modeling, automation, security and sharing, Apex, Lightning Web Components, SOQL, Flow, and integrations.Sound judgment in selecting between declarative and programmatic solutions.Strong testing discipline and ability to anticipate edge cases and unintended consequences.Ability to independently manage a problem from initial discovery through production-ready solution.Experience with AI-assisted software development tools and workflows.Ability to review, debug, and improve code regardless of whether it was produced manually or through AI-assisted development.What Success Looks LikeSuccessful Business Systems Engineers take end-to-end ownership of business problems.They work directly with stakeholders to determine what is needed, design the appropriate solution, use modern tools to implement it efficiently, and validate that it performs correctly across real-world scenarios. The objective is not simply to deliver what was requested, but to ensure that the right problem is solved with the right solution.
