Senior Buyer

Proven experience purchasing electronic components and managing strategic suppliers within an electronics manufacturing environment.A leading electronics manufacturing organisation are currently recruiting for a Senior Commodity Buyer on a full-time, permanent basis in Pulborough, West Sussex.Role - Senior BuyerType - PermanentLocation - Pulborough, West SussexSalary - £45,000 - £50,000 + benefitsKey responsibilities for the Senior Commodity Buyer will include and will not be limited to:Manage end to end procurement for assigned commodities including quotation, negotiation, PO and contract placement, and order managementLead commercial negotiations on pricing, lead times, payment terms, and long-term supply agreementsBuild and maintain strong supplier relationships to ensure continuity of supply, cost competitiveness, and quality performanceDrive supplier performance through reviews, KPIs, corrective actions, and continuous improvementWork closely with planning to convert MRP demand into an effective supply plan, managing shortages and delivery risksLead cost reduction initiatives and value engineering activities across allocated commoditiesMaintain accurate purchasing data including pricing, lead times, and supplier information within the ERP systemKey skills and experience required for Senior Commodity Buyer job applicant and will not be limited to:Strong understanding of ERP and MRP within a manufacturing environmentProven experience buying electronic components, PCBAs, and electro mechanical productsStrong negotiation skills with solid commercial awarenessExperience delivering cost reduction and supplier improvement projectsUnderstanding of supplier quality processes and engineering change managementStrong Excel and Microsoft Office capability with confidence analysing data and reportingCIPS qualification level 4 or above is desirableTo apply for this Senior Commodity Buyer/Senior Buyer/Commodity Buyer/Strategic Buyer candidates must be eligible to live and work in the UK.
