Senior Steel BuyerBramptonIn-office 5 days.$80,000 - $90,000Our client is a custom manufacturer that’s looking for a Sr. Buyer who directly buys raw steel from mills and service centres.The Senior Buyer is responsible for developing and executing sourcing strategies for steel, aluminum and manufactured components, while ensuring cost, quality, and delivery objectives are achieved. This role leads supplier selection, qualification, contract negotiations, RFQ/RFP processes and the management of subcontract manufacturers and external processing partners. The Sr. Buyer monitors commodity markets, manages supplier performance and collaborates with various internal and external stakeholders. You will maintain and analyze spend data to determine strategic long-term sourcing approaches based on financial impact.The ideal candidate must have proven experience sourcing and purchasing steel, which is a mandatory requirement for this role. This includes hands-on experience procuring cold-rolled steel, galvanized steel, galvannealed steel, stainless steel and other related metal products. A strong understanding of the supplier landscape, established industry relationships and market knowledge are critical to success. The successful candidate will have a track record of negotiating contracts, managing supplier performance and collaborating cross-functionally with stakeholders in Engineering, Operations and other business units. Strong analytical, communication, and negotiation skills are essential, as this role will be responsible for developing and executing the overall sourcing strategy for metals across the organization.This posting is for an existing vacancy with the organization.
