Senior Buyer – Manufacturing

Location: Santa Fe Springs, CASenior BuyerWe are working with an established manufacturing organization in Santa Fe Springs that is looking to add an experienced Senior Buyer to its supply chain team.This is a hands-on purchasing role for someone who understands manufacturing, can manage suppliers and purchase orders from start to finish, and knows how to stay ahead of material requirements, lead times, and production needs.ResponsibilitiesManage purchasing and procurement of materials, components, and outside services supporting manufacturing operationsCreate, manage, and maintain purchase orders within an ERP/MRP systemWork closely with suppliers on pricing, lead times, delivery schedules, quality, and overall performanceMonitor open purchase orders and proactively expedite or de-expedite materials based on production requirementsPartner with Planning, Production, Engineering, Quality, and other internal teams to resolve material and supplier issuesNegotiate pricing, terms, and delivery commitments with suppliersIdentify cost-saving opportunities and support sourcing initiativesMonitor inventory levels, shortages, and material availabilityMaintain accurate supplier, pricing, lead-time, and purchasing data within the ERP/MRP systemHelp identify and resolve supplier performance issues before they impact productionSupport continuous improvement efforts within purchasing and supply chain operationsQualifications5–7+ years of purchasing/procurement experience within a manufacturing environmentStrong experience working with suppliers and managing purchase ordersExperience purchasing manufactured components, fabricated parts, machined parts, raw materials, or similar productsStrong working knowledge of ERP/MRP systemsEpicor Kinetic experience is a plusStrong Excel skillsExperience with supplier negotiations, cost analysis, and vendor performanceAbility to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment where priorities can change quicklyStrong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
