Senior Buyer – Mechanical Equipment (Offshore)

We are looking for a Senior Buyer – Mechanical Equipment to manage the procurement of critical mechanical packages for complex offshore and EPC projects, ensuring cost-effective sourcing, strong supplier performance, and on-time delivery.In this role, you will focus on the purchasing of static and rotating equipment, such as pressure vessels, pumps, compressors, heat exchangers, and other mechanical packages. You will work closely with engineering, project management, quality, and supply chain teams to evaluate suppliers, negotiate commercial terms, issue and manage purchase orders, and monitor manufacturing and delivery progress.You will play a key role in balancing cost, quality, technical requirements, and schedule, while managing supplier risks and supporting project execution in a fast-paced environment.Key responsibilitiesDevelop and execute procurement plans for mechanical equipment packages.Source, evaluate, and select suppliers for static and rotating equipment.Lead commercial negotiations and support technical bid evaluations with engineering teams.Issue and manage purchase orders in line with project specifications and procurement procedures.Monitor supplier performance, delivery schedules, manufacturing progress, and cost risks.Coordinate with engineering, QA/QC, project management, and expediting teams to resolve technical or commercial issues.Provide procurement status updates, risk reporting, and cost/schedule input to project stakeholders.Support junior buyers and contribute to procurement best practices.Requirements10+ years of procurement experience within oil and gas, offshore, EPC, or large industrial projects.Proven experience buying mechanical equipment packages, preferably static and/or rotating equipment.Strong negotiation skills and experience with high-value supplier contracts.Able to work closely with engineering teams and understand technical specifications.Familiar with ERP/procurement systems, supplier management, and project-based purchasing.Strong communication, analytical, and stakeholder management skills.
