Senior Buyer – Strategic Sourcing (Aerospace)

Job Purpose:The Senior Buyer – Strategic Sourcing is a hands-on, execution-focused role responsible for strategic sourcing, supplier selection, and contract management for either Structures, Avionics, or Systems components across aerospace programs. The role works closely with Engineering, Program Management, Operations, Quality, Finance, and Legal teams, as well as external suppliers, to ensure cost optimization, supply continuity, quality compliance, risk mitigation, and long-term supplier partnerships.Key Responsibilities:Lead end-to-end strategic sourcing for the assigned category (Structures, Avionics, or Systems), including components, assemblies, materials, and sub-systems.Develop and implement category sourcing strategies, including supplier rationalization, dual sourcing, and localization programs.Conduct market intelligence, supplier benchmarking, and make-or-buy analyses relevant to the assigned category.Lead supplier selection, RFQs/RFPs, and commercial evaluations for category-specific items.Negotiate high-value contracts, long-term agreements, framework agreements, and commercial terms for category components, ensuring alignment with production, engineering, and cost objectives.Manage supplier performance, KPIs, QBRs, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives specific to the category.Collaborate with Engineering and Program teams on design-to-cost, material or component selection, industrialization, and technical optimization.Identify category-specific supply chain risks, implement mitigation strategies, and ensure continuity for critical items.Support localization and supplier development programs aligned with national industrial strategies and offsets.Drive procurement governance, compliance, and best practices, ensuring accurate contracts, traceability, and alignment with corporate and legal requirements.Participate in process improvement, sourcing digitalization, and ERP optimization initiatives.Perform other hands-on operational and project-related duties as assigned by line management.Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Procurement, Aerospace/Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Management, or related fieldMaster’s or professional certifications (CIPS, CPSM, PMP) preferred+12 years in strategic sourcing or procurement in aerospace or regulated industriesProven hands-on experience in sourcing, supplier negotiations, and contract management for either Structures, Avionics, or SystemsExposure to industrialization, localization, and supplier development programsExperience in regulated, production-critical, and compliance-driven environmentsProven hands-on experience in contract drafting, negotiation, and administration of high-value, complex, and long-term contractsStrong experience in supplier negotiations, claims handling, change management, and commercial risk mitigationExperience working within regulated and compliance-driven industries is highly desirable.If you're passionate about developing talent and driving organizational growth through learning, we'd love to hear from you.📩 Apply now via LinkedIn or submit your CV today.
