This industry is about to explode, and you'll be in the room where it's already happening.What you'll doThe Sr Buyer for Switchboards manages the day-to-day execution required to keep production lines running. You will own purchase order execution, supplier commitment tracking, and ERP data management. This role focuses on relentless daily expediting and operational outcome. While the Sr Global Supply Manager leads category strategy and negotiations, you drive the weekly cadence and supplier follow-ups necessary to prevent line stops.Where you'll workThis role is based out of our Long Beach facility at 6015 Obispo Ave, Long Beach, CA 90805 and will require occasional travel to suppliers and other Giga sites.ResponsibilitiesExecute POs for metals, busbars, and electrical components based on production schedulesSecure supplier acknowledgments for all POs and immediately resolve discrepancies in price or deliveryMaintain real-time ERP data accuracy for order status, pricing, and quantitiesManage PO revisions, cancellations, and change orders as production needs evolveDrive daily supplier follow-ups to catch shipping slippage before it impacts the lineManage open-order reports, proactively chasing overdue and at-risk POs to resolutionEscalate supply risks immediately and coordinate with logistics to resolve transit issuesParticipate in production standups as the primary contact for material supply statusManage the buy plan for long lead-time components, ensuring orders protect the scheduleMonitor risk lists for capacity constraints, single-source exposure, or forecast changesPartner with planning to convert demand signals into timely POs before lead times become criticalMaintain clean BOM cost data and flag variances between PO prices and standard costsReview BOMs and specifications to ensure order accuracy and minimize non-conformancesProvide cost and lead-time data to Global Supply Management to inform category strategyAct as the daily point of contact for suppliers regarding order status and quality issuesCoordinate with Quality on NCRs, replacements, and credits for assigned componentsTrack and report supplier on-time delivery trends to managementRequirements4+ years in purchasing or supply chain execution, preferably in industrial manufacturingProficiency in managing high-volume POs within an ERP systemProven ability to expedite late orders through persistent follow-up and organizational skillsAbility to interpret BOMs and technical specs to ensure order accuracyStrong communication skills and experience with spreadsheets for data trackingBenefitsSubsidized health, dental, and vision insuranceEquity (options) in a rapidly growing startup401(k) with 4% employer matchUnlimited PTOParental leaveHealthcare and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) or Health Savings Account (HSA)Commuter benefitsTeam on-sites where all offices come in–person to collaboratePay TransparencyThe range provided below is the role’s Base Salary range. This salary range may be inclusive of several career levels at Giga and will be narrowed during the interview process based on a number of factors, including the candidate’s experience and qualifications.
