Job Title: Senior C++ Systems EngineerLcoation : Remote (USA/CANADA) OverviewWe are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Software Development Engineer (IC4)to join the contractor program in supporting a critical customer engagement. This role isideal for a deeply technical, ownership-minded engineer with strong C++ and Pythondevelopment skills who can take a mission-critical, globally-deployed system end to end, settingits technical direction, hardening its quality, and steering high-risk rollouts with minimaloversight. The successful candidate will work closely with the Program Manager andcustomer stakeholders to ensure project success from initial definition through final delivery.Required Credentials:● Proven software development experience performing at or beyond a Senior (IC4) level● Demonstrated track record of owning mission-critical, high-availability productionsystems written in C++ and Python.Required Qualifications:● Expert-level, hands-on C++ development experience, including memory management,concurrency, and performance optimization in production systems.● Strong Python development experience, including building automation, tooling, and testframeworks that support large C++ codebases.● Hands-on experience with C/C++ build systems and toolchains (for example, CMake,Make, Clang/GCC), including cross-compilation and dependency management.● Practical experience with WASM toolchains, including compiling and packaging C/C++code for WASM targets.● Solid understanding of Linux internals, systems programming, and systems-leveltroubleshooting.● Good understanding of crash analysis and debugging of native code (core dumps, gdb,sanitizers, symbolication).● Practical experience building comprehensive automated test suites and integratingquality gates into CI/CD pipelines for mission-critical systems.● Proven ability to lead technical initiatives and complex problem-solving in high-riskproduction environments.● Strong awareness of system dependencies and business impact, with experiencemanaging complexity and tradeoffs.● Excellent cross-functional communication and collaboration skills, including the ability totranslate complex technical and legal requirements to non-technical audiences.Useful Qualifications:● Working knowledge of HTTP/1.1 and HTTP/2, including headers, cookies, caching, andconnection handling.● Exposure to high-performance HTTP proxies (for example, Apache Traffic Server / ATSor Nginx) or CDN platforms such as Cloudflare or Fastly, including WASM-based edgesolutions.● Familiarity with consent and privacy management platforms (for example, Didomi) andglobal privacy regulations such as GDPR and CCPA.● Experience designing bucketed or percentage-based rollout controls for safe, gradualglobal deployments.● Prior experience mentoring peers and guiding dependent engineering teams.Contractor Scope of Work Delivery Expectations:Below covers the scope of work we anticipate the contractor supporting throughout the projecttimeline. This scope is in line with our expectations of the project but is subject to change.Scope and Solution Expectations:○ Maintain full technical ownership of the Cookie and Consent Management plugin(C++/WASM), including its development, deployment, performance, and stabilityacross all consuming properties.○ Formalize and drive the technical roadmap and operational excellence for thesystem, leading the design and architecture of medium-to-large components inC++ and Python and driving cross-team standardization.○ Serve as the technical lead for high-risk, cross-functional consent andcompliance rollouts (for example, Didomi and B-EOL) that directly impactadvertising revenue and legal requirements, and design and implement proactiverisk-mitigation strategies such as bucketed or percentage-based rollout controls.○ Lead strategic initiatives such as porting and packaging the plugin for third-partyWASM runtimes to establish repeatable, portable architectural patterns in supportof long-term digital transformation and cost optimization.○ Establish system guardrails and improve core system quality, includingcomprehensive automated test coverage (Python-based test frameworks) andplatform-agnostic testing frameworks to eliminate critical regressions and ensureservice stability.○ Improve build, toolchain, and CI/CD workflows for the C++/WASM codebase,including reproducible builds and quality gates.○ Translate complex technical and legal requirements across Privacy, Legal, andAds teams, and provide mentorship and guidance to peers and dependentteams.○ Translate ambiguous, high-level business and compliance needs into reliable,globally-deployed system solutions
