Senior CAD/GIS Technician

Job DescriptionWe're looking for an experienced Senior CAD/GIS Technician to join our Metro Project Management and Construction Management team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. In this role, you will leverage your advanced technical expertise in computer-aided design and geographic information systems to support the planning, design, and execution of metro infrastructure projects. As a senior-level technician, you will be responsible for creating detailed technical drawings, analyzing spatial data, coordinating with project teams, and mentoring junior technicians to ensure project success and adherence to the highest technical standards.Develop and maintain comprehensive CAD models and technical drawings for metro infrastructure projects using industry-standard software such as AutoCAD and Civil 3DConduct spatial analysis and create detailed GIS maps to support project planning, design, and decision-making processesManage and organize project data, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and compliance with established technical standards and protocolsCoordinate with engineering, project management, and construction teams to translate design requirements into precise technical documentationAnalyze project requirements and provide technical recommendations to optimize design efficiency and feasibilityMentor and provide technical guidance to junior CAD/GIS technicians, fostering professional development and maintaining quality standardsPrepare and update project databases, ensuring all spatial and design information is current and accessible to relevant stakeholdersConduct quality assurance reviews of technical drawings and GIS data to identify and resolve discrepanciesCollaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate CAD and GIS data for comprehensive project visualization and analysisDocument technical processes, maintain project records, and generate reports as required for project tracking and complianceQualificationsAdvanced proficiency in CAD software, including AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or equivalent design platformsExpert-level experience with GIS software such as ArcGIS, QGIS, or comparable systemsMinimum 8 years of professional experience in CAD/GIS technical roles, with at least 2 years in a senior or lead capacityDemonstrated experience with metro, transit, or large-scale infrastructure projectsStrong knowledge of spatial data analysis, cartography, and geographic information systemsProficiency in technical drawing standards, design conventions, and project documentation requirementsExperience with project coordination and cross-functional team collaborationProven ability to mentor and guide junior technical staffStrong organizational and time management skills with meticulous attention to detailExcellent analytical and problem-solving capabilitiesProficiency in data management systems and database applicationsFamiliarity with project management tools and methodologiesStrong communication skills with the ability to present technical information clearly to diverse audiencesKnowledge of infrastructure design principles and construction management practices (preferred)Experience with 3D modeling and visualization tools (preferred)Familiarity with Saudi Arabian infrastructure standards and regulations (preferred)
