Senior Civil Resident Engineer (Consultancy) – HV SubstationsAbu Dhabi, UAE | 🏢 Full-Time | On-SiteWe are partnering with a leading international engineering consultancy to recruit a Senior Civil Resident Engineer for a landmark energy infrastructure project in Abu Dhabi. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in the supervision and delivery of complex transmission and substation projects while working on the owner's/consultant's side.The RoleAs the Senior Civil Resident Engineer, you will act as the Consultant's on-site representative, ensuring that all civil construction activities are executed in accordance with the approved design, contract requirements, international standards, and project schedule.Key ResponsibilitiesSupervise all civil works related to HV substations, cable trenches, duct banks, foundations, roads, drainage, and associated infrastructure.Ensure construction activities comply with approved drawings, technical specifications, contract requirements, and international engineering standards.Monitor contractor performance, workmanship, quality, safety, and progress throughout project execution.Review and approve method statements, material submittals, inspection requests (IRs), RFIs, and other construction documentation.Coordinate closely with electrical, mechanical, geotechnical, and commissioning teams to ensure seamless project delivery.Identify technical issues, propose engineering solutions, and support timely decision-making on site.Attend site inspections, progress meetings, and coordination meetings with clients, contractors, and project stakeholders.Prepare progress reports and provide recommendations to the Project Manager regarding construction status, risks, and mitigation measures.Ensure full compliance with HSE policies and quality assurance procedures.RequirementsBachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering.10+ years of experience in engineering consultancy, construction supervision, or owner's engineer roles.Proven experience supervising HV Substation Civil Works (132kV, 220kV, 400kV or above) and transmission infrastructure projects.Previous experience working for an engineering consultancy on EPC or utility projects is highly preferred.Strong understanding of FIDIC contracts, construction supervision, QA/QC processes, and international standards (IEC, Eurocodes, etc.).Experience reviewing contractor submissions, inspections, and technical documentation.Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.Fluent English is essential.
