Senior Cloud Security Engineer | Financial Services / TradingFull-time, permanent | HybridWe’re hiring a Senior Cloud Security Engineer for a financial services business operating a cloud-native technology environment.Reporting directly to the CISO, you’ll take ownership of key security capabilities across cloud architecture, DevSecOps, detection and response. This is a hands-on role with substantial autonomy and the opportunity to influence the wider security programme.The roleLead security architecture reviews and threat modelling for new systems and infrastructure changes.Embed security into CI/CD pipelines, including code, secrets, infrastructure as code and container scanning.Strengthen AWS security across identity, networking, Kubernetes and container workloads.Own and improve security platforms across cloud protection, endpoint detection and security monitoring.Build custom detections, automation and integrations, working closely with engineering teams and managed detection partners.Lead technical incident investigation and remediation, including participation in the security on-call rotation.Manage technical vendor relationships and maintain audit-ready documentation.What you’ll bringSubstantial hands-on security engineering experience, with ownership of production security controls.Strong AWS security expertise and practical experience reviewing cloud architecture and infrastructure as code.Experience securing CI/CD pipelines and reviewing application and infrastructure changes.Hands-on experience with enterprise EDR and cloud security posture or workload protection platforms.Practical detection engineering, threat hunting and incident response experience.Strong scripting, automation and API integration skills.The ability to work closely with developers, challenge design decisions constructively and communicate clearly.Experience with tools such as Wiz, CrowdStrike, Microsoft Sentinel and GitLab would be valuable, alongside comparable platforms.
