We work on a variety of custom and repair projects, giving our team the opportunity to solve real-world machining challenges rather than simply run repetitive production parts.Role DescriptionWesco Machine Works is seeking an experienced Senior CNC / Manual Machinist to join our team in Weldon Springs, Missouri. This is a full-time, on-site position for a highly skilled machinist who can work independently and take ownership of jobs from print to finished part.The Senior CNC / Manual Machinist will serve as a key machining resource within the shop and must be capable of setting up, programming, and operating CNC and manual equipment with minimal supervision. Responsibilities include interpreting prints and engineering drawings, determining machining methods, selecting tooling and workholding, developing setups, programming and editing CNC programs, troubleshooting machining issues, and producing high-quality parts that meet dimensional and surface finish requirements.The ideal candidate has extensive hands-on machining experience, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to make sound machining decisions independently. Our shop handles heavy equipment repairs, custom fabrication, machining, and line boring, offering varied and challenging work rather than repetitive production.ResponsibilitiesSet up, program, and operate CNC and manual machining equipment.Work with CNC milling and turning equipment, including Fadal and Samsung machining centers, Prototrak CNC equipment, CNC turning equipment, and manual lathes.Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, technical specifications, and work instructions.Determine appropriate machining methods and develop efficient setups from prints and job requirements.Select tooling, workholding, speeds, feeds, materials, and machining processes appropriate for each job.Program CNC machines as needed and edit, adjust, and optimize existing CNC programs.Perform precision measurements using micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, and other measuring and inspection equipment.Conduct in-process and final inspections to ensure parts meet customer specifications and quality standards.Troubleshoot machining, tooling, setup, and programming issues and make appropriate adjustments independently.Produce high quality parts with minimal supervision while maintaining efficiency and attention to detail.Support a variety of machining, repair, fabrication, and line boring projects.Perform routine cleaning and basic preventive maintenance on equipment.Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area and follow all shop safety procedures.Collaborate with supervisors and team members while bringing independent machining knowledge and problem solving ability to the shop.Qualifications5+ years of hands-on machining experience required.Extensive experience with both CNC and preferably manual machining.Demonstrated ability to independently set up, program, and operate CNC and manual equipment.Experience with CNC mills, CNC turning equipment, manual mills, and manual lathes.Experience with Fadal, Samsung, Prototrak, or similar CNC controls and equipment preferred.Strong working knowledge of G-code and M-code, including the ability to create, edit, troubleshoot, and optimize CNC programs.Ability to read and interpret blueprints, prints, technical drawings, and machining specifications.Strong knowledge of precision measurement, inspection techniques, and quality control.Competence using micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, and other precision measuring tools.Ability to determine machining methods, tooling, workholding, speeds, feeds, and setups independently.Strong mechanical aptitude, troubleshooting ability, and problem-solving skills.Experience in a repair, fabrication, or job shop environment is strongly preferred.Experience with heavy equipment repair, custom machining, or line boring is a plus.High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training, machining certification, or apprenticeship is a plus but experience over schooling is preferred.Ability to stand for extended periods, lift and handle materials as required, and perform repetitive physical tasks.Strong commitment to safety, quality, professionalism, and teamwork.What We OfferCompetitive pay based on experience.Medical, dental, and vision insurance.401(k) with company match.Consistent schedule.Overtime opportunities.A respectful and collaborative work environment.Varied and challenging work — not repetitive production machining.The opportunity to work independently and take ownership of complex machining and repair projects.Location: Weldon Spring, MOEmployment Type: Full-Time, On-SiteCompensation: Pay based on experience
