The role has a combination of BAU Control Room responsibilities, including restriction list management, position limit monitoring and sanctions, as well as process and data improvement initiatives to strengthen controls, data quality, and automation.Responsibilities:Maintain and administer restriction lists, including watch and restricted lists, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timely updates.Perform position limit monitoring across asset classes, investigating and escalating breaches, exceptions, and data anomalies.Support the firm's information barrier and MNPI controls, including wall-crossing procedures and need-to-know governance.Support sanctions screening and disclosure of interest obligations, including large and short position reporting and Takeover Panel disclosures.Act as a day-to-day point of contact for the business on restriction, limit, and conflicts queries, providing clear and timely responses.Build and maintain SQL-based reports, checks, and tools to support restriction list, position limit, and disclosure monitoring, reducing manual processing and improving data quality.Document, review, and refine Control Room procedures, controls, and workflows.Gather and write requirements, and work with technology teams to improve the data feeds, logic, and tooling that underpin restriction and limit monitoring.Take ownership of process and data improvement initiatives end to end, identifying opportunities proactively rather than waiting for direction.Assist with periodic reviews, regulatory requests, and audit queries.Contribute to ongoing enhancements of the Control Room framework and its underlying data architecture.RequirementsA genuine ownership mindset. The team is deliberately lean and does not operate with close supervision: you will be expected to identify what needs doing, drive it to completion, and hold yourself accountable end to end.Experience in a compliance, control room, or compliance-adjacent operations function at a hedge fund, investment bank, or asset manager. Direct control room experience is a plus but not required.A compliance business analyst skill set: requirements gathering, process documentation, data analysis, and working effectively alongside technology teams.Working understanding of MNPI, information barriers, and conflicts management principles.Genuine data fluency, including hands-on SQL, with the ability to build tools and processes rather than simply consume reports. Python is a plus. This is not a developer role, but comfort manipulating and automating against large datasets is essential.Demonstrated experience balancing BAU control responsibilities with change, transformation, or data enhancement projects.BenefitsSalary: up to £150kLength: 12 months, with the likelihood of extension or a strong permanent conversion pathway
