Senior Compliance ManagerSpecialist Property Lending | Regulatory Compliance & Financial Crime

Location: LondonWorking pattern: Office-based 4 days per week with 1 time from homeA rapidly growing specialist property lender, is looking for a Senior Compliance Manager to provide dedicated second-line Regulatory Compliance and Financial Crime support.This is a highly visible, hands-on role offering the opportunity to work closely with senior leaders and operational teams as the business enters its next phase of growth, integration and expansion into regulated lending.The opportunity:Acting as the dedicated second-line Compliance lead for the business, you will provide pragmatic advice, constructive challenge and independent oversight across both Regulatory Compliance and Financial Crime.You will help the organisation grow safely by translating regulatory requirements and group-level frameworks into practical, proportionate solutions.

The role combines strategic influence with detailed, hands-on activity across customer files, lending processes, controls, policies, governance and management information.Key responsibilitiesProvide clear, risk-based Compliance advice and challenge to senior leaders and teams across lending, underwriting, operations, servicing, recoveries, product and sales.Support new products, customer journeys, business initiatives and the organisation’s planned expansion into regulated lending.Develop and deliver a risk-based second-line assurance plan, including file reviews and thematic monitoring.Assess the effectiveness of controls and identify potential customer, regulatory and Financial Crime risks.Conduct regulatory horizon scanning and translate developments into clear actions, owners and delivery plans.Lead or support Regulatory Compliance and Financial Crime risk assessments.Review policies, frameworks, risk appetite measures, key risk indicators and management information.Provide oversight across AML and counter-terrorist financing, sanctions, fraud, bribery and corruption, and other relevant Financial Crime risks.Produce concise, decision-useful reporting for senior management, committees and wider group stakeholders.Support breach and incident assessments, remediation activity, assurance reviews and regulatory information requests.Deliver targeted training and promote a culture of early engagement, effective escalation and strong risk ownership.Person Requirements: You will bring:Substantial second-line Regulatory Compliance and/or Financial Crime experience gained within UK financial services.The breadth and credibility to provide oversight across both regulatory and Financial Crime matters.Strong practical knowledge of FCA expectations and risk-based Compliance frameworks.Experience delivering Compliance monitoring, file assurance or thematic reviews.Working knowledge of UK AML, sanctions, fraud, bribery and corruption requirements.Experience in one or more of the following would be particularly valuable:Lending product knowledgeSecured lending within regulated and unregulated environments.Supporting a business entering or expanding within a regulated market.Conduct risk, regulated mortgage requirements and customer outcomes.Working in an acquired business, subsidiary or integration environment.An ICA, ACAMS, Compliance, Financial Crime or risk-related qualification.
