About the OpportunityOur client is seeking a Senior Compliance Specialist to join their team on a long-term contract basis. This role will support the ongoing administration and enhancement of enterprise compliance programs, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements and internal policies. The successful candidate will work closely with business leaders, risk and audit teams, and regulatory bodies to support compliance monitoring, regulatory filings, risk assessments, and regulatory readiness initiatives.This is an excellent opportunity for a compliance professional with experience in the insurance, banking, or broader regulated financial services industry who thrives in a fast-paced and collaborative environment.Key ResponsibilitiesSupport and maintain the organization's enterprise compliance program, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements and internal policies.Coordinate compliance activities, risk assessments, annual attestations, and compliance reporting across business units.Conduct compliance monitoring and testing to evaluate the effectiveness of controls and identify potential regulatory risks.Prepare and manage regulatory filings, licensing requirements, and interactions with regulatory bodies.Investigate and respond to compliance inquiries, incidents, conflicts of interest, and related compliance matters.Develop and deliver compliance training, workshops, and awareness initiatives for business stakeholders.Maintain compliance records, dashboards, and reporting tools, ensuring accurate documentation and tracking of compliance activities.Partner with business leaders, risk, audit, and legal teams to support regulatory readiness and ongoing compliance initiatives.QualificationsAt least 2-3 years of compliance, regulatory, risk management, audit, or governance experience within the insurance, banking, financial services, or other highly regulated industry.Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and compliance frameworks. Familiarity with compliance management systems.CIP (Chartered Insurance Professional), CRM (Canadian Risk Management), or similar designation is considered an asset.Experience conducting compliance monitoring, testing, risk assessments, or regulatory reviews.Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail along with ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels of an organization.Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.Ability to work independently and take ownership of projects with minimal supervision.Professional presence with the confidence to interact with regulators, auditors, legal advisors, and senior leadership.A proactive, adaptable, and detail-oriented approach to compliance and regulatory matters.Location: Hybrid (Toronto Downtown)Rate: $35/hour (T4)Contract Term: Through March 2028This job posting is for a current vacancy with our client.Our Specialized recruiting professionals apply their expertise and utilize our proprietary AI to find you great job matches faster
