JOB OBJECTIVE:The Senior Consultant is responsible for supporting strategic development and execution of Dubai’s Economic policies and growth initiatives by leading strategic projects and initiatives within the Economic Strategy Sector, by providing strong project management skills and effective stakeholder engagement.The senior consultant will assist in the formulation, implementation, and continuous refinement of economic strategies, ensuring they are aligned with Dubai's broader economic goals and the Dubai Economic Agenda. This role is crucial in enhancing the economic frameworks and operational efficiencies through detailed research, performance analysis, and collaborative projects.The Senior Consultant will aim to facilitate informed decision-making processes, foster economic resilience, and drive sustainable growth by identifying emerging economic opportunities and addressing potential challenges in the macro and micro-economic landscapes.KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:Lead complex projects end to end, applying senior expertise in planning, governance, stakeholder coordination and management, risk management, and delivery oversight.Assist in the formulation and refinement of Dubai’s economic growth and cost competitiveness strategies, policies and plans.Provide analytical support to ensure strategies are robust and align with the broader economic objectives of Dubai.Conduct detailed analyses of existing economic development programs and initiatives to assess their effectiveness and identify areas for improvement. Recommend enhancements to ensure continuous improvement, driving implementation and outcomes.Collaborate in the design and development of special projects that focus on key economic sectors critical to Dubai's Economic Agenda. Prepare detailed reports and presentations to support decision-making processes.Engage with clients, partners, and the private sector to understand their needs and align their expectations with Dubai’s economic strategies. Facilitate communication and collaboration to enhance stakeholder engagement.Represent DET in economic forums and working groups at local and regional levels. Participate in discussions, share insights, and foster collaborations to promote Dubai’s economic interests.Assist in evaluating the economic feasibility of various projects and initiatives. Prepare summaries and recommendations to assist in decision-making regarding project continu`ation or modification.Support projects and initivatives witihn the Economic Strategy, related to economic research, economic studies and analysis, by working in colloboration with departent heads.Prepare high-quality materials and communications for the Director General and senior leadership to support the Economic Strategy core objectivesQualifications & Experience: Master’s degree in Economics, or Economics Policy, Public Policy, Statistics or a closely related field.Professional certifications such as Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Analytics Professional (CAP), Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), Certified Business Economist (CBE), Certified Economic Development (CEcD), Financial Risk Manager (FRM), Certified Data Scientist are advantageous.Preferred close to 10 years of experience in strategic economic planning, policy development, or a senior advisory role in a large organisation or government entity.Proven track record in proposing, developing, and implementing comprehensive economic growth strategies, policies, and initiatives.Demonstrated experience in managing large-scale projects and programmes, including setting strategic performance measures and managing the performance reporting process.Experience representing organisations in high-profile settings such as economic forums and establishing robust networks with key economic institutions and stakeholders locally and globally.Experience in management consulting is advantageous.
