The Senior Consultants advises on the availability of federal (and other jurisdictional) tax credits.The Senior Consultants provides knowledgeable technical preservation expertise assisting building owners through the complexity of the historic preservation process.This is a hybrid position, and the candidate will typically be in-office, going to site visits, client meetings, etc. about three times/week or so depending on business needs.People

Creates a positive team member experience.Demonstrates strong written and verbal communication skills, displays a positive demeanor and team spirit.Client relationship and business development responsibilitiesMay work more independently and autonomously with contractors, owners, and regulators on projectsDocumentation and expert advice to all levels of the process, creating a client facing partnership with key regulatorsClientIncreased public-facing representative of RyanWorks with project design teams to approve work necessary to meet preservation standardValuesHigher degree of expertise in all phases of the historic preservation certification processOversees the completion of the regulatory filings and amendments as requiredConsultative and persuasive with extensive knowledge of the historic preservation processRead and comprehend architectural plans as they pertain to the historic preservation processReviews compliance with state and federal regulations to ensure projects are meet the SOI StandardsPerforms other duties as assigned.Education And ExperienceMinimum of a bachelor’s degree with strong writing and research capabilities (in History, Architectural History, Historical Preservation or equivalent preferred)Minimum four years’ experience with historic tax credit application projectsAbility to communicate effectively verbally, and write persuasive technical argumentsWork experience in comparable federal, state, or local preservation programs is preferredStrong organizational skills and initiative working in a fast-paced, time sensitive environmentKeen attention to detailAbility to conduct research both online and in archivesAbility to multi-task and work independently in a deadline-driven and fast-paced environmentComputer SkillsTechnical proficiency in Creative Cloud suite (especially InDesign) to layup photos, create maps, and photo keysCertificates And LicensesValid driver’s license required.Supervisory ResponsibilitiesSupervision of Consultants.May lead a project team.Work EnvironmentStandard indoor working environment.Occasional long periods of sitting while working at computer.Position requires regular interaction with employees and clients both in person and via e-mail and telephone.This position requires a fair amount field activityExposure to workplace elements, such as dust, dirt, shavingsIndependent travel requirement: 30 to 50%.Equal Opportunity Employer: disability/veteran
