Senior Consultant – Technical Safety & QRA

Be the senior modeller and lead author for quantitative and consequence-based safety studies. You will turn facility data into defensible risk results, walk operator engineers through your models in review workshops and coach the engineers working with you. Key Responsibility:

• Build, run and document PHAST / SAFETI models for QRA, FERA, EERA, ESSA, BRA, TRIA and H2S zoning; deliver LSIR contours, F-N curves, risk-ranking points and exceedance results.
• Model flare and vent thermal radiation and gas dispersion (Flaresim), map fire and gas detector coverage (Detect3D or similar) and assess dropped-object and ship-collision risk.
• Develop parts counts, failure frequencies (IOGP data directory and similar sources) and assumption registers; agree scenarios before final runs.
• Integrate FEED / EPC project models into existing facility models; assess SIMOPS, operating modes and sensitivity cases for onshore plants, offshore installations, pipelines and well sites.
• Identify risk reduction measures and prepare ALARP demonstrations.
• Hand over complete, re-runnable native model files and close out review comments. Requirement:
• Degree in Chemical, Process, Mechanical or Safety Engineering.
• 10+ years in technical safety / loss prevention with extensive hands-on SAFETI and PHAST modelling of oil & gas facilities.
• Strong grasp of sour-service (H2S) hazards, toxic dispersion, occupied-building risk (API RP 752 / 753) and escalation analysis.
• Experience working to operator HSE standards in the UAE / GCC.
• Clear report writing and the confidence to defend results in face-to-face clarification meetings.
