Senior Controller

Our client, a growing international distribution company located just north of Greenville, SC, is seeking a Senior Controller to lead the finance function and support business growth through financial planning, reporting, and strategic analysis.The official title for the role will be Finance & Accounting Manager and will partner closely with leadership while remaining hands-on with day-to-day accounting operations. This could be a great next step for a Senior Accountant or Senior Controller who is ready to take broader ownership of the finance function. Rather than focusing on just one area of accounting, you would have visibility across the full financial operation and work closely with company leadership on business decisions.Key ResponsibilitiesLead month-end close processes and prepare accurate financial reports and management accountsOversee AP/AR, payroll, reconciliations, and maintain general ledger integrityManage budgeting, forecasting, cash flow planning, and variance analysisDevelop financial models to support pricing, investments, and business decisionsStrengthen financial controls, ensure compliance, and support audit/tax processesPartner with leadership to provide financial insights and support growth initiativesMaintain and improve accounting systems and financial processes (Sage experience preferred)Support process improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and scalabilityCoordinate with external accountants, auditors, and internal stakeholdersQualifications5+ years of progressive finance and accounting experienceExperience in a small-to-mid-sized business environment with a hands-on approachStrong understanding of financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and controlsAbility to independently prepare management accounts and financial analysisExperience supporting senior leadership with commercial and strategic decisionsStrong attention to detail, communication skills, and ability to work cross-functionallyExperience with ERP/accounting systems; Sage preferredCPA, CMA, or similar qualification preferred but not requiredExperience within distribution, manufacturing, or fast-paced growth environments is a plusWhy JoinOpportunity to lead the finance function within a growing businessHigh visibility role with direct exposure to senior leadership and business strategyAbility to influence financial processes, controls, and long-term growth initiatives
