The organization focuses on SDG 4 (Quality Education) and is a pioneer in Multi-Lingual Education (MLE), helping schools honor India’s diverse languages and cultures. Its programs include mother-tongue-based teaching methods, school and village libraries, and environmental education for children. Unnati ISEC works primarily in tribal areas in Akot (Akola district) and Shahapur (near Mumbai), closely partnering with schools and local communities. The team is women-led, values-driven, and made up of dedicated professionals focused on long-term impact in education.Role Description The Senior Coordinator (for MLE) will lead the planning, implementation, and monitoring of Multi-Lingual Education initiatives across partner schools and communities. This full-time, on-site role based in Maharashtra, India involves coordinating with teachers, school leaders, and community stakeholders to strengthen mother-tongue-based learning, classroom practices, and library use. The person in this role will design and facilitate trainings, provide academic support visits to schools, collect and analyze program data, and ensure alignment with organizational goals and SDG 4. Responsibilities include preparing reports and documentation, supporting curriculum and resource development in local languages, and collaborating with the internal team on strategy, evaluation, and continuous improvement. The Senior Coordinator will also represent Unnati ISEC in local forums, contribute to partnerships, and mentor junior staff involved in MLE programs.Qualifications Strong experience in education program coordination, preferably in government or low-resource schools and tribal or rural contexts.Proven ability to design, facilitate, and evaluate teacher trainings, workshops, and school-based academic support.Fluency in Marathi and comfort working with multiple local languages; ability to translate educational concepts into simple, child-friendly materials.Excellent communication, relationship-building, and stakeholder management skills for working with teachers, school leaders, communities, and partners.Competence in documentation, basic data collection and analysis, and report writing to track program progress and outcomes.Ability to travel regularly within Akot, Shahapur, and other field locations in Maharashtra and work on-site in schools and communities.Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education, Social Work, Development Studies, or a related field; prior experience in MLE or language education is an advantage.Strong organizational skills, reliability, and a values-driven mindset aligned with child rights, equity, and inclusion.
