Senior Cost Accountant

Cost Accountant Lead – Aviation / Advanced Manufacturing Location: Dubai, UAE Full-time | On-site Volantes Technical Recruitment is supporting a leading organisation within the advanced aviation and technology sector in Dubai with the appointment of an experienced Cost Accountant Lead. This is a hands-on finance position responsible for accurately capturing, analysing and reporting programme and project costs, alongside ownership of key cost accounting, inventory, accounts payable and payroll activities. Our client need someone who has built a costing structure with an ERP software from scratch (eg SAP Business One), mapping and integrating costs for a project based manufacturing process, as well as a basic understanding of accounting fundamentals. Experience monitoring or analysing costs within an existing costing system won't be enough on its own; the key requirement is hands-on experience setting one up. Key Responsibilities - Gather, consolidate and reconcile programme and product cost data. - Maintain standard and actual costs within the ERP system. - Prepare monthly COGS, inventory valuation and unit-economics reporting. - Produce standard-versus-actual cost variance analysis. - Maintain accurate inventory and work-in-progress (WIP) cost records. - Coordinate Accounts Payable, including invoice verification, PO matching, approvals and supplier reconciliations. - Prepare monthly payroll, including salaries, allowances, deductions, leave and end-of-service calculations. - Support budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting and audit activities. - Maintain highly accurate financial records in line with company accounting procedures. Key Requirements - 4–8 years' experience within cost or management accounting. - Experience within aviation, automotive, manufacturing or another CapEx-intensive industry. - Strong knowledge of standard costing, COGS, inventory valuation and variance reporting. - Experience working with programme/project cost data. - Hands-on experience with Accounts Payable and payroll. - UAE WPS knowledge is preferred. - ERP experience such as SAP, Microsoft Dynamics or Oracle. - Advanced Microsoft Excel skills. - Relevant Accounting/Finance qualification — CMA, ACCA, CPA or part-qualified equivalent. - Fluent English.
