Title: Senior Cost Accountant

Location: Southern Athens, Greece (100% office based)Salary: €2,000 – €3,000 gross per month x14, depending on experience + bonusOur client is a multinational group operating across the energy and manufacturing sectors, with an established presence in Greece and a wider international footprint.

As part of the continued development of its finance function, they are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join their team in Southern Athens.Reporting into senior finance leadership, this role will support day-to-day accounting operations, financial reporting, and month-end closing processes, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and effective financial controls.

Responsibilities

Manage day-to-day accounting activities, ensuring accurate and timely financial recordsSupport monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing processesPrepare and review journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, accruals, and provisionsAssist in preparing monthly management accounts and financial reporting packsSupport inventory accounting, including stock reconciliations, inventory valuations, and monitoring of stock movementsAssist with cost accounting activities, including cost allocations, product costing, and analysis of production costs and variancesEnsure compliance with Greek accounting standards, tax legislation, and statutory requirementsPrepare and support VAT, tax, and other regulatory filingsAssist with annual statutory financial statements and external auditsSupport intercompany accounting, reconciliations, and group reportingMonitor accounting controls and identify opportunities for process improvementsWork closely with internal stakeholders and external advisers on accounting and financial mattersRequirementsDegree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related disciplineExperience in inventory and cost accounting would be desirableProven experience in a Senior Accountant or similar accounting roleStrong knowledge of Greek accounting standards and tax regulationsExperience with month-end and year-end closing, general ledger accounting, and financial reportingPrevious experience within a multinational or international business environment would be advantageousExperience within energy, manufacturing, industrial, or related sectors would be beneficialStrong Excel skills and experience with ERP/accounting systemsFluency in Greek and a strong command of EnglishStrong attention to detail, organisational skills, and ability to work independently
