Senior Cost Estimator (Joinery & Interior Fit-Out)

Position Overview We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Cost Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive expertise in joinery, interior fit-out, and woodworking projects, with a proven track record in cost estimation, tendering, and budget control. The role requires strong analytical skills, value engineering capabilities, and the ability to collaborate across departments to ensure accurate and competitive project costings.Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare detailed BOQs, cost estimates, and budgets for joinery, furniture, and interior fit-out projects.Analyze project drawings, specifications, and client requirements to develop precise cost breakdowns.Prepare tenders, quotations, and technical submissions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with client and consultant requirements.Conduct value engineering to optimize costs without compromising quality or project specifications.Negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing and finalize subcontracts.Support the procurement team in identifying cost-effective purchasing strategies.Perform variance analysis between estimated and actual project costs, providing insights for continuous improvement.Collaborate with project management, design, production, and finance teams to ensure smooth execution and financial control.Evaluate and certify subcontractor invoices and assist with the preparation of payment applications.Maintain up-to-date knowledge of market trends, material costs, and industry benchmarks.Qualifications & ExperienceDiploma/Degree in Wood & Paper Technology, Civil Engineering, or related field.15+ years of experience in cost estimation, quantity surveying, or cost control, with at least 10 years in joinery and interior fit-out projects (GCC experience preferred).Strong knowledge of BOQ preparation, tendering, and contract administration.Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Microsoft Office; experience with ERP systems is an advantage.Proven expertise in handling large-scale hospitality, residential, and bespoke furniture projects.Excellent negotiation, communication, and coordination skills.Ability to work under pressure and deliver accurate estimates within tight deadlines.
