Apply & track with Apply EdgeWe are looking to hire a Senior Cost Manager who will be responsible for cost estimation, budgetary control, cost analysis, and financial management of construction projects for our client based in Dubai, UAE, which is one of the largest companies in the region.This position is a contract role with an initial duration of 12 months (renewable).The Senior Cost Manager will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates, supporting pre-contract feasibility studies and tender evaluations, monitoring project budgets and expenditures, managing change orders, and providing cost analysis throughout the project lifecycle. The role will work closely with Project Management, project engineers, contractors, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to support cost-effective project delivery, minimise financial risks, and maximise value.Key responsibilities:Prepare comprehensive cost estimates across project phases, including pre-contract feasibility studies, tender evaluations, and detailed Bill of Quantities (BOQ) cost breakdowns.Analyse and evaluate contractor bids and proposals, identifying potential cost risks and opportunities.Develop and maintain project budgets and cost control plans.Monitor and track project expenditures against approved budgets, identify variances, and recommend corrective actions.Prepare cost reports for Project Management and key stakeholders, highlighting cost trends and potential budget overruns.Manage and control project change orders and assess their cost implications.Provide cost estimating and analysis support for claims and variations.Monitor market trends and construction cost data relevant to project requirements.Collaborate with project engineers, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to support cost-effective project delivery.Identify and highlight cost risks during tendering and project execution.Support timely identification and escalation of potential cost overruns.Maintain accurate cost information and provide relevant analysis to support project financial decision-making.Knowledge, skills & experience:Minimum 12 years of experience in construction cost control engineering.Demonstrated expertise in pre-contract cost estimates, including feasibility studies and tender evaluations.Strong experience with post-contract cost breakdowns and BOQ.Strong understanding of cost estimating methodologies and construction pricing practices.Experience with cost control software and cost estimating tools is preferred.Excellent analytical and price negotiation skills.Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with strong Excel skills.Excellent communication, interpersonal, and reporting skills.Strong ability to analyse project costs, identify variances, and support effective cost control.Availability:Preference will be given to candidates available immediately or within a short notice period upon accepting the offer.
