This senior role partners with business leaders on a broad range of lending, regulatory, and transactional matters. You will help shape practical solutions, strengthen compliance programs, and proactively manage legal risk across a complex financial services environment.

Responsibilities

Serve as a strategic legal advisor to business teams on a broad range of financial services, regulatory, and operational matters.Provide guidance on consumer and commercial finance laws, lending practices, credit operations, and related compliance requirements.Partner with internal stakeholders to identify potential legal exposure.Help strengthen the company's regulatory compliance framework, including reviewing internal processes, policies, and controls.Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of business contracts and agreements with third parties.Advise on legal issues involving customer relationships, financial products, data protection, and business operations.Monitor evolving laws and regulations and provide recommendations to ensure ongoing compliance.Work cross-functionally with business leaders to support organizational goals while managing legal and regulatory risks.Must-Have-Skills:JD degree and active CA bar membership.5–10 years of legal experience.Strong background in consumer finance regulatory compliance, particularly within banking, lending, or financial services.Experience advising on federal and state consumer lending laws and regulations.Background working with a bank, credit union, or other financial institution.Nice-to-Have Skills:In-house experience.Experience with commercial finance or capital markets.Experience managing outside counsel.
