We are seeking an experienced credit risk professional to support the independent review of complex institutional credit portfolios. This role will focus heavily on counterparty credit risk involving organizations such as hedge funds, asset managers, regulated investment funds, clearing organizations, and other sophisticated financial counterparties.This position is for someone with significant experience assessing commercial or institutional credit risk and who is comfortable evaluating complex trading relationships, exposure levels, collateral arrangements, credit limits, stress scenarios, and supporting documentation.What You'll DoYou will independently assess whether credit decisions, risk controls, and credit management practices are appropriate for assigned portfolios and counterparties.Responsibilities include:Review credit decisions and transactions involving institutional and trading counterparties.Evaluate counterparty exposures, credit limits, collateral and margin practices, stress testing, and risk sensitivities.Assess underwriting quality, credit monitoring, documentation, and ongoing risk management.Review trading and credit documentation, including ISDA and CSA agreements.Lead or support formal credit portfolio examinations and coordinate review activities across multiple stakeholders.Identify emerging risks, control weaknesses, or areas where credit processes may need improvement.Document findings and provide clear, fact-based recommendations.Track identified issues and corrective actions through resolution.Review work completed by other credit professionals and provide coaching when appropriate.Partner with Credit Risk, Internal Audit, business leaders, and regulatory stakeholders.Assist with portfolio assessments, risk reporting, and planning future review coverage.Monitor economic and market developments that could affect counterparty credit exposure.Support continuous improvement initiatives across the credit review organization.What We're Looking For8–10+ years of experience in commercial credit, institutional credit, underwriting, credit review, workout, risk management, or a regulatory environment.Strong understanding of counterparty credit risk.Experience evaluating credit exposure, limits, collateral, margin requirements, stress testing, and other risk measurements.Working knowledge of trading documentation such as ISDA and CSA agreements.Strong financial and credit analysis capabilities.Ability to analyze complex information and develop well-supported conclusions.Experience communicating findings and recommendations to senior leaders.Ability to lead projects and influence stakeholders without direct reporting authority.Strong written communication and documentation skills.Ability to manage several complex reviews or projects simultaneously.Experience working with large datasets and performing financial or risk analysis.Bachelor's degree, preferably in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related discipline.Preferred BackgroundCandidates with 10+ years of direct experience in counterparty credit risk, market risk, credit portfolio management, or institutional financial services will be particularly well aligned.Experience involving any of the following is highly desirable:Hedge fundsAsset managersPrime brokerageRegulated investment fundsStructured financingCounterparty exposure managementCredit portfolio reviewMarket riskFinancial regulatory examinationsAdvanced Excel skills are preferred.
