Senior Credit Controller

We are partnering with a well-established and growing business in Hampshire that is seeking an experienced Senior Credit Controller to join their finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive and commercially minded professional who enjoys building strong relationships, improving processes and driving cash collection performance.Reporting into the Credit Manager/Financial Controller, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of key accounts whilst supporting the wider credit function to ensure debtor days are minimised and cash flow remains strong.Key ResponsibilitiesManaging and collecting outstanding debts across a large customer portfolioProactively chasing overdue payments via telephone, email and written correspondenceBuilding strong relationships with customers to resolve payment queries efficientlyUndertaking account reconciliations and resolving disputed invoicesReviewing and assessing customer credit limits and making recommendations where appropriateProducing aged debt reports and communicating collection performance to senior stakeholdersEscalating high-risk accounts and recommending appropriate actionSupporting month-end processes, including reporting and cash forecastingIdentifying opportunities to improve credit control processes and proceduresMentoring and supporting junior members of the credit control teamAbout YouPrevious experience in a Senior Credit Controller or Credit Control roleStrong track record of reducing aged debt and improving cash collection performanceExcellent communication and relationship-building skillsConfident negotiating payment terms and handling challenging conversationsStrong attention to detail and account reconciliation experienceAbility to prioritise workloads in a fast-paced environmentProficient in Microsoft Excel and finance systemsProfessional, resilient and results-driven approachWhat's on OfferCompetitive salary and benefits packageHybrid working optionsSupportive and collaborative finance teamOpportunity to influence processes and make a visible impactOngoing training and career development opportunitiesModern offices and excellent working environment
