Sitting on the trading floor and processing approximately 1,500 transactions per day, this person will work shoulder-to-shoulder with senior traders while maintaining a dotted-line reporting relationship to the Amsterdam-based Chief Risk Officer. The role demands someone with the confidence to push back on traders professionally, the commercial judgment to make timely risk decisions under pressure, and the analytical depth to build and enhance credit risk frameworks independently. It's a compelling seat for a candidate who wants genuine trading floor exposure and long-term ownership of a high-impact credit risk function within a lean, collegial team of approximately 75–80 professionals.Key Responsibilities:Assess and manage counterparty credit risk across existing and prospective trading clients in the Americas book; conduct direct counterparty financial vetting including proactive outreach to credit officers to confirm exposure on 30-day payment termsPartner with senior traders to evaluate new opportunities, emerging markets, and evolving trading strategies; provide timely, commercially-minded credit risk insights to support deal decisions on a high-volume deskDevelop and continuously enhance credit risk frameworks, models, and monitoring tools to strengthen the firm's risk infrastructureMonitor portfolio exposures and the interaction between credit, market, and operational risk across the Americas trading bookLead Risk & Compliance Committee (RCC) reporting; support senior leadership with risk updates, portfolio summaries, and credit recommendationsManage trade credit insurance programs across the Americas portfolioCollaborate with technology teams to improve risk systems and analytics capabilitiesMaintain a data-driven, solutions-oriented approach to risk management while exercising sound commercial judgment in a fast-moving trading environment
