This role integrates security directly into CI/CD pipelines, drives vulnerability automation and threat modeling, and translates complex regulatory frameworks into practical engineering requirements. The Senior Cyber Engineer ensures continuous security observability, resilient cloud and container security, and provides authoritative technical guidance to product and engineering leadership.Salary: $143,913 to $187,093 per year (inclusive of TLMS and locality adjustments)Location: Fort Meade, MD; Arlington, VA, Scott AFB, IL, San Antonio, TXMajor Duties:Architect Security as Code: Design, build, and integrate automated security gates and compliance checks directly into modern CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitLab CI), shifting security "left" in the development lifecycle.Secure Cloud & Container Infrastructure: Define, implement, and audit security configurations for cloud-native infrastructure, with a heavy focus on Azure, Kubernetes (AKS), and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) templates like Terraform.Establish Zero Trust Architectures: Lead the engineering and enforcement of Zero Trust principles across platforms, virtual networks, enterprise endpoints (including AVD), and identity management systems.Automate Vulnerability Management: Engineer and manage automated scanning tools for static application security testing (SAST), dynamic application security testing (DAST), software composition analysis (SCA), and container image vulnerability assessments.
