Senior Data and Analytics Engineer

Optomi, in partnership with a leading professional services organization, is seeking a Senior Data Engineering & Analytics professional. The ideal candidate will have a true full-stack data background, combining analytics and data engineering responsibilities. The consultant will partner directly with business stakeholders, gather requirements, translate business needs into technical solutions, and own projects from conception through delivery. Candidates must demonstrate both strong engineering capabilities and an analytics mindset capable of driving insights and business value. Responsibilities:Gather and translate requirements by partnering directly with business and technical stakeholders to understand needs and define data solutions.Own data products end-to-end, from requirements and architecture through development, testing, deployment, and ongoing support.Build scalable data pipelines using SQL, Spark, Kafka, Airflow, Python, and Scala, including both batch and real-time processing.Design real-time streaming solutions using technologies such as Kafka and Spark to support timely analytics and data products.Develop data models and analytics solutions, including data warehouses, dimensional/star schemas, standardized metrics, and analytical datasets.Create dashboards and deliver insights using tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms, and communicate findings to technical and executive audiences.Independently solve complex business and data problems while leveraging cloud and modern data platforms such as AWS/Azure/GCP, Databricks, Snowflake, Iceberg, Trino, and lakehouse technologies.Qualifications:8+ years of experience designing, developing, and deploying next-generation analytical data products3+ years as a Senior IC leading the development of data products and visualizations across multiple lines of businessStrong proficiency in SQL and Scala with hands-on experience in data pipeline tools (Apache Spark, Kafka, Airflow), CI/CD practices, and version controlProficiency with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and modern data management and visualization platformsStrong understanding of data warehousing, data modeling (dimensional/star schemas), and metric standardizationExcellent executive communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiencesPreferred Qualifications:Exposure to Semantic Layer and Headless BI using AI
